Worked in the office and yard. The disrespect level & back stabbing is toxic. I now work for a company with the utmost respect making me realize how bad the coop working atmosphere is so I am writing a review.

You cannot speak up or you will be fired. No one is allowed to have an opinion and if you do and it doesn’t fit the perspective of the CEO you will be fired.

Education, experience and skills mean nothing to them. You can bend over backwards and work towards a goal then dump on you. 

The pay does not meet what the industry pays in the area as per studies done in the area. I should have worked hourly to make $60,000-90,000 per year working overtime instead of a salary for $32,000 a year start with 2 days off for overtime worked. After 5 years only at $35,000 with a 1-2% raise per year. Or work 25 years and only make $40,000 per year. Stay away. More ag companies out there to work for.

I am still a member and am worried about the future of our farmers with the changes the coop is making under the new management regime.

Ever wonder why this has increased from 0-2 to 5-15 at a time in the last year? People are unhappy and leaving not just because of growth as they will try to say.

Ever since former CEO had retired new  CEO and  executive it has stemmed they run on their own agenda.  Being there in excess of 20 years I have come to realize that most employees are unhappy with their work positions.  In the last 12 months we have lost over 10 important employees who’s contributions make a difference in this company  most of these employees who have left are female  there seems to be a push for an all male dominance in the decision making process.  The management team in all areas will tell you this is a great place to work but after being there for any length of time you soon realize there is a male dominance and will say anything to appease you.  I once thought being an employee of this organization was like a badge of honour but now it seems like a disappointment in how things are run.  If management doesn’t pull up their socks this great company will demise to the hands of a bigger conglomerate 

This company likes to come across like they are a good company to work for. They give you lots of "perks" to appear like they are. But really if you work anywhere but the corporate office as a woman you will experience sexism and inappropriate comments and behaviour. To boot the HR manager is abrasive and useless so you really have no one to turn to. There is total lack of any formal training and then if you don't get the job due to this they like to hang on to you till right before your probation ends just to really drive it home. The pay sucks compared to other companies for similar jobs. Women should not leave the office here! Stay away!

I enjoyed working with Hensall for many years although the pay and pay raises were always on the lower scale. They do have good benefits and company perks but a lot of other companies do as well. 
I was looking for a location transfer for many years and informed HR, management and other location of my wishes and although Hensall policy is to post internally first..this was not the case for me. They ended up not following their own policy and hired outside first. Disappointed and very upset with the way I was treated from HR and upper management. The only thing I miss is the great relationships I built along the way. Hensall’s loss and my gain moving on and upwards!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The feeling of belonging and family atmosphere. I was shown how to do things by great ppl who took the time to  show me how to properly work and operate equipment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I never truly felt any stress working there 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment is very welcoming and family orientated.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I'd go in start all the belts in the recieving area, do a change over, go to the office find out what farms were coming in for the day. Then I'd assist wherever I was needed

Talking with farmers, other drivers 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not knowing what is the next delivery/pickup 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A touch of old boys club, basically if you don't drive a tractor trailer you are not a "real trucker" 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8 to 10 hours (non harvest season)
10 to 14 hours (harvest season)

There is an Executive but the place is run by the CEO and two of the managers.  Life is easy if you just do what they want.  One of the values is empowered lol.  
It can be very busy which makes the day go by faster.  The customers are great.
The days can be long because everyone around you isn’t happy.
The good reviews all came at the same time because people were asked to put them in to hide the bad ones.

-Large company with a lot of things going on and to many bosses who lack the ability to communicate with one another and employees. 
-If they like you in the position you are in they will give you no chances to advance yourself.
-Don't share your opinions or thoughts on certain matters as that will lead you being treated even more unfairly
-You are just a number to this company- easily replaceable. 

-Hourly pay is ok. Can make money when you work overtime but hard to live off without overtime.
-Most employees are friendly/ good to work with

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part about working at Hensall Coop is lots of overtime in the busy season

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Upper management is very unorganized and does not communicate at all. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You are a number and it is very stressful because of lack of communication.
Divisions do not like helping out other divisions.

The people I worked with at Seaforth location were great. Only problem was not enough people to spell off for a washroom break when it was busy. Job is good if you don't mind long hours. When term of employment ended was told at initial interview and hiring that winter work would be available in the Hensall plant. The hr girl lied about that. I'm wondering now if thats standard practice just to entice people they hire.
