Hero Burger

My shifts were around 5 or 6 pm after school at Sheridan. It would be busy so my manager would sometimes call me in early or ask that I be in at least 15 minutes early which was reasonable until he began being aggressive about me coming in early. My co workers were around my age and very sociable. They were very supportive when they saw the manager being unfair or unreasonable with his employees. I enjoyed interacting with the customers who became regulars. I learned about their allergies to food and what they liked and disliked about the food. My coworkers were young and in post secondary so we had plenty in common with each other. The hardest part of the job was dealing with a manager who had unrealistic expectations due to his lack of experience in the food industry. He had previously worked in retail and just opened this restaurant. I thought he had hired me for my knowledge and experience but I was ignored when I had any input on proper procedures and health standards.

A typical day would be serving about 100-200 orders in a fast and presentable way

I've learned that teamwork is essential to the food industry as well as proper timing and making sure that as an order taker, to pay very close attention to the customer

Management is okay, there are a few days where not everyone is enlightened on what has been going on throughout the day whether we have a member of head office coming in or an appliance is broken, but other than that management isn't too bad

My co-workers are great, we all get along and we all help each other whenever struggling with a work task.

The hardest part of the job would be trying to manage everything while being short staffed

The most enjoyable part of the job is having the people you get along with the most on shift and everybody knows what station to work, this just makes the day so much easier.

I really enjoyed working here, it was a fun, laid back environment. The management was amazing and very accommodating. I learned a lot about leadership and scheduling and how to work successfully in a team. The hardest part of the job were the hours, I worked a lot of night shifts which can take its toll. The most enjoyable part of working at Hero Burger were definitely the staff and management, they were all amazing and all worked really well together.

A typical day involved cooking and cleaning. I learned how to prepare complex meals and prepare cold and hot salads for customers in the York University area. Management could be better at communicating. My co-workers were nice. The hardest part of the job was being on my feet. The most enjoyable part was showing up knowing that I was serving the school I love the most.

Very amazing people, they care take care about you they act very professional with your employees their business management is a top level and the business is always great uniforms .
The food is very tasty high-quality top quality meat and I do really am recommend him work and I hear a burger and had eating the food.

my typical day at work would be to start cleaning and prepping the restaurant then begin taking orders. I learned good customer service skills while working at Hero Burger and it became a very multicultural environment.

I enjoyed working here because it wasnt like any other typical job; the staff was exceptionally kind but very strict at the same time. I loved doing what I did, cleaning and assisting with customers. The hardest part was leaving at the end of the day.

my manager was disorganized, unprofessional, and rude 
first day on the job - screamed at just eat driver completely unwarranted 
fired me via text because i was not able to cover his shifts on his own whims 
only hired two people for cash to cover the whole week

I received tons of hours as I had asked and the environment was very pleasant work environment. Training was very quick and there wasn't a lot of customers during the weekdays.

its a regular minimum wage job, never know who or what you will encounter. the boss is a nice guy but very stingy, as with every food based business. i dont blame him, food is expensive even in bulk.
