I've read some negative reviews on this site and they couldn't be further from the truth...

This is a great company in so many ways!

They are a company with loads of work available. If you are energetic with a positive attitude towards your work you will excel here. Hard work and dedication will pay off when you work for this company and there is always room for advancements. Management is great at all levels. They will do whatever is necessary to achieve your needs. There is a long list of employees that have been employed with this company and are very happy where they are. The pay is good, if not great. The most competitive non-union rate going. And with the availability of night shift work and OT, it can make for some great pay cheques!

High Point overall is a good place to work with a lot to offer an apprentice. Projects are becoming more varied in scope and size, and there is opportunity for growth as they always are looking for leaders. 

Pay is good for the area, but overall the industry is drastically underpaid

The work is typical of the trade but that's about where it ends in similarites. Everyone is underpaid and not supported sufficiently. The worst part is there's no room for advancement in the company, and you have to fight, and I mean really fight, to try to get any sort of pay increase. The culture is toxic and most competent people will leave within a year. Good luck

The jobs are great, with an amazing environment. Everything is pretty standard work, the only people unhappy are because they have a bad attitude but they don't last very long. Every long-term employee loves their job and stays forever. Sometimes construction gets slow, but they always bring back their layoffs as soon as possible.

Good place good people I have worked on several projects with this company and always injoy my time there . I have seen several come and go and the only wire they could pull was the there own. 
So don’t give a 1 star if your a 1 star.

Management and coworkers are very good, everyone gets along. Nice work culture. Golf tournament for foremen/service people/office staff. Very steady work, will always get a full week. There are regular night shifts. Pay is below average for the lower mainland.

High point offers a fairly typical trades style work site. They offer equal employment opportunities for all with the chance for advancement. Hardest part of this job is sometimes it is required that the work is seven days per week graveyard for extended periods.

Heavy nepotism means only the family of the owners will move up, people often get fired because they become too expensive or had a disagreement with one of the owner's family members. No benefits, Management is sometimes young and unqualified.


Do not work here

Highpoint electric has a lot of constent work with a lot of good people working for them. I really enjoyed the environment of the workplace and highly recommend it to anyone in the electrical industry.

Pay is low, no RRSP matching, they cheap out on vacation pay  and they expect you to work the night shift 7 days a week. Not worth it to make someone else rich. Better off to find a company that sort of cares about you.
