If you want to learn and grow, definitely this is the best place to work. Great people to work with and amazing work culture. Lots of opportunities to learn more about the industry. It is very fast paced, productive and fun place to work with diversity and inclusiveness being on the top of the list. This is my 2nd year with High Tide Inc. and I am looking forward to completing my working career with them in years to come. Great leadership team, very open and easy to talk to anyone; almost like family and they always have your back to support and guide.  Pay structure is aligned to the market trend. Delicious food served every alternative Friday. Good heath benefits and EAP in place including great perks with vendors like Goodlife, Marks etc. It is a bit far from where I live, but I don't mind the commute. The best thing that hooks me to this company is knowing where the organization is heading in terms of business and growth. With every new store that opens, my anchor goes bit more deeper - I am here to Stay!

Most days are busy with no sense of direction and little in place for process. So far I've learned to keep to myself and avoid developing relationships. Management is all over the place and never really communicates with one another. Many on the management team are underqualified (imo), whether it's at their specific job or just generally dealing with other humans. Disrespect and lack of concise communication are forefront most of the time. If you need an answer, you really have to formulate the perfect question, or no one even replies. Workplace culture is mediocre, there are regular events but the different departments are so separate from one another, it's almost pointless to expect any team building between them. The hardest part of the job is getting the info you need in a timely manner. The most enjoyable part of my job is logging off each day. This place could really benefit from an outside source that actually knows how to develop processes and can teach the departments to cooperate and work cohesively. 

I worked as a full-time team lead at an unaffiliated cannabis store that was acquired by High Tide. Things changed dramatically once the acquisition was finalized.

High Tide's HR is incredibly unprofessional. Our area manager and district manager severely lacked communication within the company. The final straw was once our priority became selling everybody a $30 yearly membership instead of selling cannabis. It became our fault if we didn't sell enough memberships, regardless off the lack of training staff had received and the lack of interest among customers.

High Tide turned a job I enjoyed into one that I dreaded going to.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Things didn't stay consistent long enough to actually work. One approach would be in place, then suddenly it changes... okay, fine... but then that new approach doesn't last either. So now you're just constantly adjusting to shifting expectations that don't really settle. It's like... what are we actually sticking with here? Because it never feels stable. After a while, it just becomes frustrating to keep up with something that keeps moving for no clear reason.

This place is absolutely brutal, one of the worst professional experiences I’ve ever had. The leadership thrives on control, squeezing every ounce of energy from employees while giving nothing back. The pay is laughable, the hours are abusive, and the constant churn of people walking out or being pushed out says everything about the culture. Management is greedy, self-serving, and completely blind to the fact that their staff are drowning under impossible expectations. Training is practically nonexistent, and you’re left to figure things out in chaos while being treated as disposable. 

Great pay and benefits with a supportive, collaborative work culture. Fast-paced, fun, and inclusive environment where everyone feels like family. Tons of opportunities to learn, grow, and be part of a company that's expanding fast. Leadership is approachable, open, and always has your back.
