What is the best part of working at the company?
The company has many supports. They are all about advancing you to be better at your position, therefore they put the time and money into you. Work and family life is addressed with little or no weekend work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There has not been any real stressful times with the company. The higher the roll comes with higher stress as per any company. But as stated the supports are there to help you along your way.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is a very easy going mentality. Where when things are setup and discussions had to allow for a site to run smoothly occurs, you can actually deal with the urgent tasks at hand without being overloaded. The culture is very well layed out as we strive to be the safest, cleanest, most efficient sites in all of Canada.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Morning meeting with the site followed by a morning meeting with our staff, then a walk of the site. I then follow up on any outstanding issues, and look ahead at the upcoming days and set up any material or workers from any subtrade that needs to be qeued up. At 2 pm we hold a daily foreman meeting where we talk about the schedule, where everyone is, and if we have any roadblocks.

Working at Highstreet has given me an opportunity that I would not have had in many other places. The friendly family like environment is really supportive and we can reach out to anyone at any point with questions. Not only is there no such thing as a stupid question but they are encouraged! How often in a company can you reach out to your VP and straight up have a face-to-face conversation?

I came to Highstreet not knowing what to expect but now I know that I not only have a job but a career. The Managers allow for growth by letting you make mistakes and help coach you into to correct way to do it.

Even though growth and advancement can take years to accomplish Highstreet definitely makes it worth it by supporting you and wanting you to succeed.

Not only do they want you to succeed, but they want to take care of you with investment opportunities, and competitive salaries.



Working at Highstreet has given me the opportunity to work with some of the most honest and inquisitive people I've met in my career. From my personal conversations with co-workers from across multiple departments, it's not uncommon to hear that Highstreet is the best company they have ever worked for.

Team members are always willing to lend a hand, and leadership is actually willing to listen and give space for mistakes during the learning process. Highstreet clearly states their values and follows through with them. It's an organization willing to invest in you, with a group of like-minded individuals who are always ready to support each other and grow together.

Highstreet goes above and beyond to take care of their employees, and I'm very proud and grateful for my experiences and interactions with the company.

Got hired for an on site job in a skilled trades position. HIGHSTREET promised the world and never delivered. The hiring in process makes you jump through hoops with credit and background checks.(Not a normal thing in this industry). They promise the world and preach about how they are trying to change the construction industry. Promise training for tickets that never happened. Promised coaching that never happened.  No managerial oversight. Very little work for a skilled trades position. They expect to be able to use you as a labourer, but also get mad when you do labour work, saying you get paid to much to do that, and then leave you with no tasks to do and a very confused direction of what to do. Overall management didn’t seem to know what they wanted. Good position for a skilled labourer, not as a skilled tradesman. 

Highstreet has a great office culture.  Even though there are 4 departments, everyone works collaboratively and is always willing to lend a hand.  I was worried about moving back into an office space after being on a site for several years.  However, the office space is open, bright and very comfortable for a workday.
You have the opportunity to provide input on projects, and they actually listen and take your opinion.  There is no tunnel vision here.  Always willing to try new things.
Having a core value of "Doing what is right, always" sends a clear message through the company of where the priorities are.
The investment matching and bonus structure is also a great benefit to have with a company like Highstreet that is only continuing to do better and continuing to grow.

I began working at this company in July 2021 and have been blown away with my overall experience. During my training and time here I have never had to look far for support on any questions or issues that have arisen. The organization truly is a team oriented environment with a hands on and approachable leadership team.

New ideas and approaches to problems are always welcomed with open minds and never frowned upon. This company sees value in building workplace culture and truly does invest in their employees (education, compensation, coaching). 

Being an employee here is an incredibly different experience than any other organization I have worked with. I highly value mentorship, humor and kindness. This place has those as a foundation. They build relationships with their community members and colleagues. I feel like if I could write them a tag line it would be: 'Give your best. Live your best'. I look forward to growing with this company! 

It's a progressive company that's always improving and building great, energy efficient homes. There is rarely a dull day, and always feel challenged.  It's an open, collaborative environment where you can voice concerns, share ideas, have healthy debates, and know you'll be heard.  Culture is a big plus, as we have great team building event, and always celebrate the wins (and even laugh at the failures).
