Approached this job with high expectations because of my level of respect for this facility.  Very disappointed from day one.  Login code for computer not working, had to find Admin and Charge nurse , in which my concern was merely shrugged off, and I got the distinct feeling I was annoying by asking for my login credentials in order to complete my responsibilities.  Staff very loud in gathering report area, which is also where the RPN must do all the work , and this is not a good idea considering doctors and families are called on a regular basis for updates. Some staff working 10 or more days in a row,  and this seems to be approved by management.  Medication passes, depending on the unit ,are non stop, and very rare to get an opportunity to actually sit and take a deserved break. Overall, a very defeated feeling in performing duties, no matter how hard it is tried, because the culture and the routine is in my opinon, sub standard at best. Look elsewhere if you can. 

Scheduled work day related to advanced requested work orders and  weekly, monthly and annual maintenance list to follow as regulation.
the skills I gained during my years of work which is by workplace in-services as WHIMES or  by self educating by reading related materials to my work makes me helpful for my work environment and my co-workers.
The hardest part of my job is waiting for materials which happens once a while. but by having a kind and supportive management I always finish my tasks.
The satisfaction of residents and co-workers makes my work enjoyable and by having an amazing and friendly co-workers my workplace becomes my second home.

	Change, feed and bathe residents; attending to other personal and grooming needs such as combing hair, trimming nails, brushing teeth, passing bed-pans and helping residents to the bathroom (transferring to and from commodes). 
	Emptying catheter bag
	Use mechanical lifts during transfers.
	Serve meals to residents and feed when necessary, prepare trays for self-feeders.
	Remove or releases restraints as scheduled.

My job at Hillel Lodge had me on my feet quite a bit. It could be stressful at times with getting residents to different areas, as well as working alongside the nurses for which residents could participate in activities. However, it could become dull with the activities provided for recreation, as they became repetitive. However, it is harder to find appropriate activities when regarding the ages/abilities of the residents in the Lodge.

Staff, residents and family members are great.  Management are detached most of the time.  One manager micro manages and is insincere which causes a lot of stress.  This manager is not clear but demands perfection.  Disorganization and absent staff due to many holidays creates added tension.  Sitters and paid caregivers can be intrusive and demanding. 

As a new employee, I cannot rave enough about this home. The staff are respectful and kind from the top down creating a relaxed environment where staff can focus on what's important...the residents. The quality of care that the residents receive is far superior to any other LTC home that I have ever come across.  Wonderful place to work.

When I worked at Hillel the staff was friendly and explained everything I needed to know.  The clients where good to work with.  Management was very accommodating and if you needed anything they would provide information or support. The workplace was a lot of fun and my colleagues and I would laugh most of the time we were at work.

Very high expectations compared to job descriptions. Very educated and technical work environment. Aside from great salaries, very few perks. Great place to work if you can handle a high stress work atmosphere. Must be career motivated, along with well educated to fulfill this position. Very great opportunity.

Favoritism, and toxic work ethic, Management says they have open door policy but they are mostly absent. They do not have professional management culture. Very passive and always blame workers.

Started off as a dietary aide. The job is easy once you get a hang of it. The only part that’s annoying are other employees; most have been around for 10+ years so can be mean to newbies, especially if you’re young.
