I absolutely love officiating hockey. It is a very rewarding way to earn a couple of bucks here and there.

There are many reasons why I love this job. First of all, it's a great way to use my logic and ability to make quick decisions. I also love being in control of the game. There's just something about being on the ice with everyone watching you, and counting on you to keep control of a game; I guess you could say that I thrive off of the pressure it brings.

I also enjoy the 'brotherhood' of fellow officials. It's a real team atmosphere that rivals actually playing on a hockey team. I absolutely love this job!

Working in Hockey Canada enables me to leaned to worked in multi-skilled team and this enables me to understand and learned different and better approach to do my task.

On this project we are 6 developers, and my task is to developed and enhanced the HCR, Karma and eHockey; Create and design tables and stored procedures, Write a code for data access layer, and business layer, and design some user interface.

As a hockey player myself, being a referee was a fun and exciting job to make some money. Your schedule is almost entirely up to you and you chose what games and position you want to do. The only issue I had was the trouble I had to move up and  referee higher levels of hockey. It seemed the only ones that moved up were those the referee in chief liked or had coached.

I live down the street from an arena and I started working here when I was 15, because most establishments will not hire children under the age of 16, I would only ref on the weekends and usually get about 4-5 games, (more during a tournament) each game pays 25$ so it was really good money considering each game was only an hour.

I worked for hockey Canada for 4 years as a scorekeeper. My job was too work the scoreboard and write down the statistics for every game. It was a very fun job working with different people every game and getting to know them 30 minutes before the game. I would get payed around 15~16 hours a game depending on the level.

Hockey Canada offers a competitive and supportive work environment for all staff. Employees must be task-oriented, able to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines by utilizing efficient and effective time management.

Lots of refs did not know the proper rules and did not take things all that seriously. Was sometimes exciting but more than anything it was very cold. We weren't allowed to wear gloves which led to almost frost bite on many occasions.

Having volunteered for an event, the sense of teamwork on the ice does not exist off it. Very disorganized. Sense of chaos and urgency on game day. After event finished, sent an email to person I dealt with as a thank you, and heard nothing. Very egotistical culture 

Good experience helping raise funds for charitable cause selling raffle tickets during tournament. free meals, sponsor clothing, and goodies were provided to volunteers (although that might not be the case anymore) .  there was also lounge to hangout and watch live games on TV

productive and active work environment with very energetic and involved employees, this job allowed me to stay active while also staying in shape and learning how to work as a team and individual to enforce rules.
