Home Instead Markham

As a care provider with Home Instead Markham, my specific role is to provide companionship and assist with the tasks of daily living with seniors.  For many clients, this additional support is very meaningful as it can allow them to remain living in their own home.   Each work assignment is as unique as the senior we work with.  Home Instead begins their involvement with a comprehensive assessment of each clients request and needs.  Based on  this plan of care,  a support team is created and can include both Care Pro (like myself), as well as certified Personal Support Workers (PSW’s) and a Nurse Case Manager.   Home Instead Markham is excellent at promoting a positive and collaborative team work environment.  Consistent support, as well ensuring staff feel appreciated and empowered, is a priority.  They also offer ongoing staff training.  
Home Instead Markham is committed to  providing the very best client experience possible.    They genuinely care about and recognize the value of seniors within our community and treat them with the respect and dignity they so deserve.   
In addition to offering positive social connection to seniors, I have provided practical support in the form of meal preparation, grocery shopping, light housekeeping.    I have found the work to be very meaningful as relationships are built and each senior has had many lived experiences to learn from! 
Overall, my experience has been very positive and I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead Markham as a place to work or for seniors and their families to receive support!

Working at Home Instead has been a really great experience for me. The team has strong work ethics and genuinely cares. They’re always quick to solve problems and support each other, which makes the job smoother and creates a positive, respectful work environment.

The work environment at Home Instead is supportive, respectful, and team-oriented. Staff are encouraged to communicate openly, help one another, and maintain high standards of care. The culture focuses on compassion, professionalism, and making both clients and employees feel valued.

I've had some ups and downs working with home instead. Management and office staff are very friendly and approachable. Hours can be at times unpredictable making the job pretty unreliable if you need it to make ends meet. For a retired/student/part time worker it can be a pretty rewarding job and can help you connect with the community. Some clients that you can be assigned to are very challenging and the $18 that they offer is too low for a psw in those cases. I've loved my time working with home instead as they are very focused on trying to accommodate you and help your career grow. Overall a pretty good place to work.

Visiting clients, assisting with daily tasks, providing companionship, and helping them remain comfortable and independent at home.

HomeInstead Markham is an amazing place to work. Management is very supportive, provide lots of training, quarterly meetings in addition to training.  Very knowledgeable, coniencious and truly care about their clients and the service they  provide.  Also very concerned that their care providers are well educated, trained and happy with their jobs. Office culture is very important to them.  All this making it easier for the care providers to give their seniors the best service possible.  I would highly recommend working with this organization.  

I am always given the proper instructions and expectations of the client I am handling. Everything is under the sun which means I get help from the company and information is always available. I have learned patience, managing the every day routine of my client and I had fun learning stuffs. The hardest part would probably be getting attached to a patient. Most enjoyable is cooking since I love cooking.  I would recommend Home Instead because employees are taken cared off. 

A typical day at work involves visiting patients, providing personalized support, and adapting to their needs. I've learned the value of flexibility and communication. Management is supportive and encourages feedback. The workplace culture emphasizes teamwork and respect. The hardest part is feeling isolated at times, but the most enjoyable part is building strong relationships with patients and seeing their progress.

Everyone  is very supportive  , they  look after your needs... very easy to talk to and understand  each situation  we are in. 
We feel one big happy family.

So far I haven't I haven't had that experience.

Confident to  work with  client knowing  the company  has given us the right tools and believe in us .

I had a wonderful experience working at Home instead ( Markham). The environment is welcoming and professional and the team made me feel supported from day one. I gained valuable experience, improved my skills and felt appreciated for the work i contributed. It was a pleasure to be a part of such  positive and respectful workplace. I am very thankful for the opportunity and everything i learned.
