A Typical Day: Hone Fitness didn't make me "walk the floor" as a trainer. They give each new member a free personal training session which provides trainers the opportunity to obtain clients in a much more organic way. It's just up to you to sell the package and do your job. I was totally capable of having a full-time training schedule by doing this and enjoyed the fact that you can form your own schedule.

The Facilities: each location has everything you would need as a trainer or a customer, plus all the equipment is brand new! As a trainer, I found this super helpful.

Management: I haven't found anything better. The GM for Hone Fitness does everything from mopping the floors, painting the walls, to selling memberships, solving problems for both staff and customers. As a trainer I needed strong management behind me, and this is the guy to have, hands down. 

Workplace Culture: the staff at Hone were like family to me. I personally worked at the Queen and Bathurst location as well as the Isabella one, and the staff there made sure my job as a trainer was as easy as possible by cleaning the facilities, booking sessions and processing payments. They welcomed me in as family and if you work at Hone, I'm sure they will do the same for you.

Hardest Part of the Job: early mornings and late nights, but that is life as a Personal Trainer.

I love working at Hone Fitness because they promise growth and give it to those that work hard. You get exactly what you put into it. I get paid on time and sometimes in advance. They are the same 2 days every month for all 7 locations. Which is my only complaint, I prefer the Bi Weekly payment plan so that I can receive the same amount on each pay and some months get 3 pays per month. However that doesn't change the overall annual pay, it's just easier to budget.
 
I started at Front Desk working for minimum wadge and as discussed in my interview if I worked hard I would become Management in 3 years. It's 3 years and I am now a General Manager. Unlike previous jobs, I always have the positive support of Staff and other Managers. Some days are stressful but once the job is done and praise is given, it's forgotten.

Hone Fitness is a fantastic gym, plenty of space and it's super clean, I honest enjoyed to work in such a nice space. The downfall was the management as they were not straight forward with me about wages and actually for the first month I was convinced I was getting paid by the hour,  which was false. When I received my wages I asked the manager why I was paid so little, then he said actually you get paid per client. So my conclusion was that management gave me false hope about the finance. I was obviously a little niave but they did take advange of my kind nature. I would advice a person to have a contract in writing. 

I don't have many bad things to say about hone fitness at all. The only thing I would advise them on is to standardize everything. There isn't much structure within the company. The trainers get to "run free" per se as there is no management specifically for them. There needs to be more guidance and help for them as that would definitely increase overall PT sales and trainer experience. 

My direct manager is amazing. But above him is very disorganized. There definitely needs to be more overall company structure and standardization. More management needs to be implemented as well.

A typical day at Hone Fitness was filled with a roster of clients that i adored. every week i would train the same people at least 2 - 3 times and i can honestly admit that they were the people who made my experience amazing. i dont know if it was the location or something in the air up on st clair west but my clients were by far the best i have ever had. i learned a lot about taking on a managment role, that was the hardest part of the job. After i was given a health centre there was no system in place for me to learn and grow from so i had to take on the roll and teach myself

I was working for Hone a couple months ago and just had to leave. A very toxic environment to work in. Managed by very young and unprofessional individuals. Due to the lack of experience, and their ever changing moods, your experience can be great or terrible (really depends day to day). Great divide from management to staff.

Pay is minimum and there are no other perks other than getting to use the gym for free and meet wonderful people in the process (clients and staff.. not including management).

A money grab company that's trying to surpass GoodLife but will never attain such a dream.

flexible hours, you just have to organize plates, clean and sign new members up. No incentive for staying with the company for a long time. No benefits expect free gym membership and 10 percent off Popeye's supplements. The staff uniform is just a T shirt that says Hone Fitness, most of the time the staff don't even wear them especially the trainers. Some staff are lazy and will just sit at the front desk and watch you organize all the plates by your self/clean the machines.

Hone fitness was the first company to open their doors for me when I first arrived in Canada and I can say the experience to work here has been great so far! Nice environment, great place to learn and get experience. I started as a part time front desk and in less than 6 month I became a full time manager. Our boss trusts on us and always encourages us to give it our best and rewards with good paychecks that are always on times.

I started the company working as front desk staff, and worked up my way up to manager of one of the locations in about 6 months. Not the best income, but it is an opportunity to grow, meet people, and a have a balance in your life since the ambience is friendly and hours are flexible. When putting some effort and have motivation you are able to improve a lot your sales skills when dealing with clients, and soft skills when dealing with other employees and managers.

Working here I could learn a lot of things and one of the most important ones was the chance to improve my sales skills when dealing with clients, dealing with clients is very hard but when your boss trusts you, everything becomes easier.
I love the support that my co-workers and boss have been always giving to me and for me, this is the best part of Hone fitness.
