I appreciate a workplace where employees are respected, teamwork is encouraged, and there are opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully every day.

The most stressful part of working at Hope Mission is supporting individuals who are facing complex challenges, especially during crisis situations. However, the stress is manageable because of strong teamwork, clear procedures, and the shared commitment to helping people move toward stability and hope.

It’s a supportive, team-oriented culture where people are dedicated to helping others and working together to make a positive impact.

Each day includes supporting clients, working as a team to maintain safety, and responding to needs with compassion and professionalism.

Lack of transparency, overwhelming prejudices, misogyny and nepotism, lack of support and safety for staff.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very toxic, a lot of the staff are condescending towards clients, not a very Christian environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
12 hour shifts, very little time to actually interact with clients, senior staff are entitled and have poor work ethics, duties are not equally shared.

Management is outstanding. Everyone is nice. There are times that you have to work long hours, but they make sure that we are properly compensated. There's no easy job, it's just the way you treat your work or how you love your work!

The staff are all organized and kind. Volunteers are required to have an outgoing and hard-working attitude. The day passes very fast with the many jobs given around the kitchen and during service but it’s overall such a great (my personal favourite) place to volunteer whether it’s for hours or just helping the community.

You'll love your team. You'll love many of the clients you serve. It's a stressful job. You need to develop good situational awareness, or there can be substantial issues with your safety. Trust is most closely connected to the people you work with the most and degrades the farther out you go from your team and up.

Team work people focused  & support the needy

The job on its own is rewarding to the community. However, there are lots of layoffs during the year and you can be callef through intercom to get laid off. For the most part just keep searching to not get caught off guard. Most management staff need more training to respect staff working below them.

this place is filled with gossip, its a toxic environment, you have some people in supervisor positions who don't care about there jobs. for a Cristian organization there is alot of backbiting. personally don't work here, its not worth the basic wage......

Fast paced. Many departments. I worked in the shelters department. You meet people from different walks of life in staff and guests. It is a humbling experience. Come with no expectations, and you will be less shocked. Lots to learn

Hope Mission is a very flexible organization to work for. Although they pay minimum wage, you are surrounded by people who share the same Christian faith and values as you.
