Very much a family business how all managers are related and have their wives run the office. 
The company is very very very relaxed but almost in a way where everyone runs free Willie. 
No work no drive to find work. 
Example we waited for a gravel contract for 5 weeks. 
Told day after day there’s work tomorrow. 
When the call came in for that big job apparently call was missed because the person was golfing that morning  and for got to forward the phone. 
And with that never no who to call. 
I sweep the same floor every day for six weeks twice a day. While so many jobs came and where missed.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the end of your shift when you would then go to a mouse infested dirty bunkhouse and the old and worn out equipment that they give you and exspect 100 product out of it and you.  Junk.  Thats  it

Over all good to work for, other then the fact if you need personal days don't expect to have a job when you come back!! They will replace you with in a day and not even tell you they will replace you with someone with no experience at all just for the fact that they want 24hour work
.. selfish and will sabatoge your ei after they let you go with out telling you!

Over all Hopkins was good to work for, although after a while the 12 hour days, 10 days in a row and then only 4 days off, then back to work, on nights for about 4 rotations got to me, and I end up getting injured. since the crusher was 24 hours operational, i was replaced while on sick leave.

Most of the people were good to work with, however DO NOT miss any work work days as they will fire you no matter the reason I had seen multiple good workers fired due to calling in for medical emergencies to family emergencies , the work is hard and the pay is low but during my time it was always a reliable job 

A typical day at work started at 4a.m. Make breakfast get things prepped for lunch and supper. Take a few hours break com back make supper, do clean-up finish for the day. I did grocery shoppping and dealt with employees likes and dislikes 

it was a steady good job until the recession hit.. when we got calleld back work was inconsistent and our wages cut with the promise of them going back up which never happened. however all in all pretty decent place to work if you like being away from home.

Depending on the day i would reverse in the rock truck on 50 foot long path get loaded by a hoe then proceed to a km away and dump load. other days i would drive directly under gravel crusher and get filled from there.

Work independently, learned how to use Microsoft office programs, many managers so it was easy to find help, lost of men, the hardest part of the job was the hours and the best part was the customers

Good family owned and fair employer management was good and honest...HR was great dispatch was great also alway got paid what i worked no issues..work was weather pending pt time employee
