owners, upper management and some middle management are completely disconnected from the work force. seems as though the management team is a revolving door...absolutely no knowledge of what actually goes on, plenty of people in positions that have zero training or education on the subjects theyre in charge of. company as a whole is broke, laid off a pile of employees in 2020 under the disguise of COVID but in reality they were already going broke. they didn't even lay some off, it was a termination without cause for some and their severance package was pathetic.  they gave employees bonuses, then weeks later laid people off, this shows their complete ignorance of financial responsibility. company has multiple owners, was there for along time only met 2.  they hired a new CEO and almost immediately the lay offs started. we were assembling our products with lots of the wrong equipment, or lack of equipment. plenty of unsafe practises people do without management knowledge. company has potential to be great, ownership has their sight set way too high. get good at what youre doing now before you try something else. the machine shop was formally under different ownership seems like its getting ran into the ground. poor guys are expected to perform high accuracy, dangerous jobs under immense pressure from management with zero support system from management. the machine shop never laid off an employee in 40 years, within 2 years of HWD ownership they laid off multiple. inept ownership and management its rotting the entire company from the inside out, its a sinking ship. nepotism runs high, if youre not part of the church they all go too keep your resume brushed up.... if you like feeling nervous about job security at all times, hunterwood is the place for you!

This used to be an amazing place to work, unfortunately the ownership group now in charge lost focus and direction quickly after buying the company. Employee morale, customer service and quality of the final product were the things the have suffered the most. Hunterwood has become a rotating door for employees and the consistency and quality of product are long gone. A very unfortunate example of how an incredible concept can be over engineered, over promised and under delivered. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Company was so poorly managed. It went into receivership and We all lost our jobs overnight.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Losing your job out of nowhere because of poor management

While the work is easy, the upper management makes it hard to want to come into work. The only way they know how to run a company is into the ground. They string you along with false promises and never deliver. You’re treated as a number and not a valued employee 

I was involved in many aspects of the company in my 9 years there. The team was great to work with, the work was hard but rewarding. The hours were long but we were compensated. The travel was extensive, and interesting.

it was a great place to work but mismanaged and full of inefficiencies. The people are great and the work was interesting with international work as well. Pay was below average and hence lost a lot of good employees. 

Needs a remodel, out with the old and in with the new.
Turning section has a few newer machines, the milling side has failing CNC horizontal and standard mills. Wear waterproof boots !!

Management is not professional and says inappropriate things. Culture is very negative and no room for growth. Staff goes to work and says they are there to only collect a pay check.

Great staff but inept CEO and inexperienced VPs who ruined a once great company. Unfortunate the CEO and management put them into bankruptcy less then 4 years of being there. 

People are nice and willing to teach. 
Everyone has a open and honest personality 
New challenges everyday
Very welcoming to new employees, and new immigrants
