I Love Travel

Working for I Love Travel has been a somewhat decent experience. The pay is minimal, however travel expenses are paid. 

Receiving my cheques for pay has been as a hassle.

Hours can vary from 7am-3am, or 9am-3am, depending. 

Supervisors have previously informed us to wear uniforms on the few times we are not working, and as such are under obligation to work during the break periods.

On average I have received one official two hour long break per trip (average length 5 - 7 days).

Expect long hours, minimal sleep and high expectations. 

For instance, we had been asked to monitor university students who were under the influence while they played in the ocean at night, and requested we go in after them if things got out of hand. We are not trained life guards, and similar instances involving intoxicated students pushing and pulling us into pools. Some other employees could not swim.

Pros of the job include excellent work locations, and fellow staff is amazing and friendly. Create life long friends and coworkers by working side by side as a team. Supervisors are always open to trying to improve and many of the cons of the job will likely be fixed as the company grows and matures.

Overall, despite the many hiccups involved, the job is enjoyable and makes amazing memories.

The pay is horrible. You're working long hours. They don't even send the cheques to you on time. You're asked to do things outside of your responsibility basket, and you are unable to refuse. Other coworkers do not pull their own weight, and some are even able to go about partying while the rest have to work their slack. They don't communicate with you well. Sometimes you're asked to go on a trip 6 hours before it's about to happen. Sometimes you go 3 months without hearing anything at all. The most enjoyable part of the job is being on destination, but that is about all that is okay.

The employees (aside from the operations team) are all glorified telemarketers, and they don't even realize it. All they do is call young high school kids and act cool enough to make those kids want to go on a trip with them. It's morally wrong and aggressive, and their job titles are VERY misleading. They make the job itself, and the office environment to be very fun, but once you get into it, it's quite the opposite. The people seem very very nice, but after a short while it becomes clear that it is all fake, and some people are actually quite rude.

Fast paced and fun, but zero compensation for overtime! There is practically zero work-life balance - you are expected to work long hours for very very minimal pay and it can be a super stressful job at times! The company "tries" to make it fun, but fun don't pay the bills, and neither will a job at this company!! There also seems to be a lot of unprofessional pettiness within management. Great stepping stone for a career, but definitely would not stay there long.

There are two types of jobs at I Love Travel, one is working in the office environment and the other is being onsite. Both pay low. 

In the office the hours are pretty much 9 to 5, however onsite you can work 20 hours a day and there is no additional pay for overtime. the salary is low even for entrance level position. if you work full time expect a coordinator job at roughly $32K and if you are simply going onsite expect to get paid $100 overall (for up to 2 weeks of work)! They have staff as young as 21 overseeing the travelers which are 18 years old. 

23 hour days worked sometimes with a struggle to get a break and adequate food. This is basically for zero pay its "volunteer" but I've never had so much work to do at a job with such long hours. If anything the work load should equal the highest level of pay. Very stressful, no training for working with teenagers under the influence. Several staff in one hotel room with different schedules.

Working for I love travel was fun but the hours are very long so you must take that into consideration. I had a pretty good time on my trips and I think it's really good work experience.

Made some of my best friends and memories working with I Love Travel. Every day is different and every day has a new challenge which is what makes working with these guys so interesting and enjoyable,

A typical trip would consist of switching between stations that provide information, safety and entertainment. I learned how to work with a team to ensure a quality experience for both the travellers and myself.

ove working for this company. Everyone knows your name and genuinely cares about you as a person. Yes it can get very busy - hurricanes, winter storms, etc - but everyone is very supportive and works together.
