If you want to be in  show biz, you need to join IATSE. When you work through IATSE, they make sure all your tax withholding, EI, and WCB payments are paid, so you don't have all that extra paperwork to do. Many employers in the entertainment industry only hire through IATSE. You may get full time work in a theater, or part time/on call work for travelling shows when they visit your city.There are lots of opportunities to expand your knowledge and skill set while in a safety conscious environment that protects you from being mistreated.  

Be Repaired to be HUMBLED by the talent that flows through the movie sets. This is not a place were you are king of knowledge number one or the head kahuna. Greatest bunch of Guys and Gals ever!
This is were all talent comes to Meld together to produce movie magic. This is where you are fed like a King want a pop water milk it's all there free. Safety is number one on the sets. All courses are payed for even high reach courses. Every one works together as one collective (Haaa Haaa) No really great atmosphere, great work conditions all the Heads are there for you. Like i said GREATEST PART TIME JOB....

Found the work place professional and informative I found that pending on which person you work under treats one as if one is stupid  kind of makes you feel stupid expects you to put extra supplies away after that person used them on a separate site much like a slave attitude you do what I say. There is to be no drinking but after head one returns from getting supplies had alcohol on her breath not imptrsses

Safety is critical in our everyday decisions. Strong work etiquette is a must

I've loved the job since day one. Never plan to leave. There is tones of opportunities to make an amazing life long career and/also travel if you choose.

They create a work environment when knowledgeable technicians come together as a collective to get the job done. I am working as a camera trainee and will be looking forward to upgrading to a 2nd camera assistant in the near future.

The jobs consist of mainly Stage hands, unloading the setting up the equipment used by the Performers. Then different departments such as A.V.,Carpenters, Techs, etc. set up the show as to the performers standards.

Very un-predictable work schedule...Not for the 'faint-hearted. You must be very capable of working with various dept's and many other people

IATSE is a great employer. I greatly enjoyed working there.
Movies are fun but also require hard work. I have always performed beyond expectations there.
