I worked here as an analyst many years ago. The people I worked with were great but no one was fond of the department we were in or the company as a whole. As far as I could tell, they were mentality checked out and only sticking around because they've been with the company so long it would have been a pity if they didn't get packaged out in a layoff. 

The management turnover rate was high due to the fact that most of them didn't have any technology background. IBM had to absorb them as part of any outsourcing deal they made with clients. They were unhelpful in many situations and we were largely left to fend for ourselves. 

It's interesting to see how companies put more value in one area than others. Like most companies I've seen, the sales and customer facing departments get whatever they want but the ones behind the scenes keeping the lights on and systems running smoothly get nothing.

The way we were treated made some of the old timers bitter and it became a toxic place to work so I didn't stay long.

You could have a medical appt, and you were just expected to make up the time. Great management practices in IBM Canada's GTS. You could go as far and as high as you'd like...if you applied yourself.  Outside education of your choice was funded, as long as your manager deemed it relevant and you got a "D" or higher.

Harassment, discrimination and working on non productive deliverables 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most of the time not good, there is lack of organizational support while working with clients company

With global resourcing, there are always lay offs regularly.  Used to be a better working environment.  Nice working environment with the flexibility to work from home.  IBM is an innovative company with many opportunities for advancement, training used to be great but with budget cutting, you need to learn new skills on your own if you wanted to move into some leading edge technologies.

While my time at IBM provided valuable experience, I found the advancement opportunities to be limited. Leadership seemed more focused on their own progression rather than supporting employee growth, and promotions often appeared to favor a specific group rather than merit. A more inclusive and development-focused culture would greatly benefit the organization

There are things that can be better but overall if you like consulting its a good place to work for. The insurance is good, Pay is fair and there are a lot of support and training for career development.

- A typical day is stand-up meetings and requirements to perform the job.
- learning curve isn't encouraged, you have to do mandatory training even if they are not related to your work/field.
- You have to squeeze yourself to get recognized, but one mistake will take your progression and promotion for a year or two.
- 

Working on projects is usually interesting but constantly trying to get new work is very stressful. At one time IBM emphasized education and training to keep one's skills current. However, now they are more likely to lay you off and hire someone with the skills they want. There is no loyalty to the employee anymore.

Spent 30 years with IBM in the IT industry.  Worked mostly on hardware products. Repair and troubleshooting on a daily basis.
Had several high profile clients ie. govt, banks, insurance and airports

You need to work overtime a lot (even on weekends) without any overtime pay or lieu dayoffs. I requested a sick day a few months ago but they called me in on the sick day. But if you are lucky and have a good manager you will receive small bonus
