I've been with the company for a few years now, and one thing I really notice is how they like to develop from within.  A big part of this company is being able to watch their employees grow and take the next step in their development.  This is proven through many success stories from account managers, branch managers, and regional managers, where many individuals have started in shipping/receiving and have climbed the ladder to the higher positions they are in now.

They pay is quite fair, and the benefits are great!  Lots of collaborative work, not just within one branch, but the online connectivity between the branches allows for a multi-branch collaborative effort through many situations we encounter in our daily tasks.

Overall, Iconix is a great place to work for!

I have been with Iconix for almost 25 years now. I have been with them through all of the various name and management changes as ownership changed. Through all of the changes that I have experienced with them, a few key points have remained consistent: 

1. It is a great industry to work in with lost of opportunity to learn new skill sets and be involved in work that makes a difference in communities.
2. They are very fair with their wages.
3. Their benefits and paid vacation day packages are second to none from what I have seen in the market place.
4. The opportunity for growth and advancement is easily achievable if your are a motivated and conscientious employee.

Overall, i am very happy with Iconix and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an opportunity to work hard towards a career.

I have only been with the company under a year and I feel more valued than ever with Iconix. I am  part of a great team that treats its employees very well and has a great environment. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. Work life balance is huge with this company and they value family and your time! Having small child is hard but when you have leaders that understand it is very noticeable. There is tons of opportunity for advancement and growth. You can really make a career out of it if you are willing to put your mind to it!! I was so scared to make a huge career change and I couldn't be happier! 

I have worked for the company for 10+ years and have been through the various ownership changes. Our new parent company, the Deschênes Group, is one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, and it's clear why. They value their employees and treat them well.

Other things to note: The work is challenging and the work environment is collaborative. Hard work is recognized and employees are often rewarded with growth and advancement opportunities. And finally, the senior leaders are very approachable and open to employees’ ideas.

Working at ICONIX has been an enriching experience. Quality work, great environment and learning opportunities are the reasons why I love working here. I immediately appreciated the pleasant atmosphere and identified with the like-minded, driven people, and this hasn’t changed since. You always have a voice no matter who you are, and good ideas are encouraged and fully supported.  ICONIX presented me an opportunity to grow on both a personal and professional level. From starting in the company as a shipper/receiver to working in the finance department as an AP Clerk,  I am still being challenged with interesting new tasks and responsibilities. Working here has been truly motivating as we are always trying to reach the next level as a team and individuals!

The Good: 

-Interesting industry to work in with lots to learn. 
-Meaningful work, both in office and warehouse that leaves you with a sense of accomplishment.
-Great support and encouragement from management towards learning job processes and responsibilities.
-Flexible schedule for appointments, occasional free food and yearly discretionary bonus.
-Yearly inside sales conference, to meet other provice wide branch counter parts.

The Bad:

-Co-workers gossip about one another, instigate problems to cause drama and aren't willing to help one another.
-Lack of support from management when it comes to resolving co-worker conflicts.


The overall company culture is lacking in direction and communication. There are individual locations that have some amazing culture and are fantastic work environments, but overall, there are too many really large ego's and upper management is more willing to turn a blind eye than to do anything about it.  The company doesn't seem to hold itself accountable to their own values.

There are some really great individuals who helped to make working fun and interesting. Unfortunately, those individuals are far and few between; and not in authoritative positions.

I have been very impressed by the consistently-positive attitudes of my colleagues, even in times of high pressure or stress. Everyone is very friendly and eager to offer assistance to others. The company puts an emphasis on safety and the employees seem to value a healthy work environment. I have only been with the company for about 7 months, but am truly enjoying my work and I feel that there is a lot of room for growth which is encouraged by management.

Great team collaboration to get the job done. A wonderful crew of people that were fun to work with. Professional individuals working side by side, while dealing with very high paced, demanding tasks. Would have loved to have stayed, but the financial rewards were just too far off, for the constant growing inflation in Victoria B.C.

My experience at ICONIX has been extremely positive.  I was initially hired as an HR Assistant, then promoted to an HR Coordinator role.  The culture within the workplace is great with teammates who are all working together, towards making ICONIX the best it can be.  They encourage feedback and foster innovative ideas. ICONIX is a great place to work and a great place to be!!
