Good rapoor with some staff and management however there are some staff members who are very unwilling to to share simple work related information. At times it seem to me that some of  these members of staff borders on nuputism or even more seriously is  racially  pregidice. The vast majorty of the staff compliment are great to work with but generally there seems to be a  sense of lack of job security amoung staff . This relates to my tenor at the Stafford Road location.  There were good moments , eg whenever we had a BBQ or a birthday celebration  for staff members, after that  work/ life was generally dull, with no other activities to talk about. It is critical for IKO management/ Owners   to know that if they wish  to keep good workers. Its not only about the salary that is offered that keeps your workers but the care and love an the feeling of belonging that will make your employees want to stay with you for a lifetime.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The wages are sublime for in the city, other than that, there’s a reason it pays well…  it’s not a good one.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Since this is manufacturing, there happens to be a lot of downtime, a whole lot.  Production crew has to keep busy during these times, and it’s not easy.  Getting yelled at by the lead hands doesn’t help, and that’s almost all the time, producing or not.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poisonous.  Things should change once the old guys retire, they are set in their old school ways and instead of helping and training the new hires, they yell at them for not knowing what to do…  Yeah.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When we produce, things can go smoothly or things can go wrong quickly.  It can be stressful, and absolutely physical when things go wrong, hence the higher than average pay.  When there is a planned shutdown, it’s not so bad.

The only thing good about this place is the pay. Other than that you have incompetent supervisors who do nothing but sit on their butt in their nice AC offices while employees overwork themselves in the heat. the heat is so unbearable but they don't care. they don't care about the staff at all, just want you to overwork yourself. there is no room for advancement so don't think you'll ever get a promotion. They keep you in the exact same spot that you were placed from day one.

Training is a joke. they don't properly train you but expect you to know everything. older staff abuse the system but newer staff have to just bite their tongue. this place is so unfair and not worth the stress. And if you think you'll have a life outside of this place, you're wrong.

Theres also so much dust that the inside of your nose is black, even if you wear a mask. a company that is exploiting their workers can at least put proper ventilation

I was there as a temporary worker for a little over a month, and I enjoyed it. The job duties were simple, and there was minimal supervision; I worked in the warranty claims department. The warranty claims manager was very nice. The coworkers love to gossip for some reason & they are not mature for their age. They were interns studying engineering or another math/science field (Some were born here, others were from India, South America, other countries/continents that immigrants that come to Brampton are typically from, etc). Aside from the immature coworkers, everything was good. 

As a recently hired production supervisor in the Hillsboro, Texas facility. I was greatly impressed with the thoroughness of the on-boarding process. Never have I seen a company invest so much time up front preparing an employee for the role they will be filling. In my opinion IKO is world class in giving clear expectations and providing employees with the tools, knowledge and support to be successful in their new roles. in my past experiences most companies tend to have you shadow your counterpart for a week or two then for lack of better words "Throw you to the Wolves" I have been in manufacturing management for 27 years and it is my hopes and intention to finish out my career with IKO a leader in their Industry and a company that's values align with what's important and necessary to be successful in not only business but life 

Just steer clear. Everything here is third class. From the insurance, pension, benefits, no stability. They promote Engineering Managers that are electricians and technologists - not actual engineers. EIT? Forget it. They do not want to 'train' or 'give back to society'. The Corporate Electrical Engineering Department is a vampire caproate culture. Travel schedule, stability, and training/advancement are rated 0/10. If you have ANY OTHER OPTIONS RUN AND SURVIVE! Before their computer algorithm from abroad catches up and lays you off in the worst way possible.  

Chock full of uncooperative managers who would rather make their own job easier than work as a team to accomplish something to better the company and its customers. Virtually no communication between departments, and sometimes even within departments. Suggested improvements are met with, "Yes we know that would make things better but the departments involved aren't willing to change." Hiring is based on IQ-type test with no weight given to the ability to work with other people. The owners are great people with a strong vision. Unfortunately the management team below them doesn't seem to be on the same page. All in all a very frustrating place to work.

It’s a decent office job especially for your first job after graduating. Cubicle life can get kinda boring but it’s good if you like working independently. The people are nice. I just wish the company was open to allowing things like WFH or casual clothing. A lot of the companies nowadays offer competitive benefits and I just don’t see much of that here. Pay is not that great considering COL nowadays but it’s manageable. Workload can get stressful sometimes depending on busy season.
What I liked was there’s actually a lot of opportunities to move up the ladder and get other opportunities within the organization. Standing desks was also nice since my last place didn’t have any. The people here are super nice and I made some good friends. Overall it is a decent job. 

It started off nice, but changed, the pay is ok, the work environment is quite toxic and the work/life balance is pretty laughable. Work environment is not safe either. there are good parts some of the people are great and there is always enough varied work to not get bored. However, expectations are very high for support given. no appreciation to employees they only care themselves specially the big bosses.they give big salary to useless people who doesn't know what they're doing but they still keep them in the company. policy is useless samething with the union they only want your money. a lot backstabber employee. when they're in front of you they'll say nicest word about you but when you're not around they say alot of bad stuff about you.

Overall a lack of teamwork/professionalism on all levels. Different shifts are somewhat competitive and have issues with each other. You will be expected to work on shift and maintain a area while that guy next to you; gets paid more, works days, and does not contribute tangibly to keeping the plant running (there are a few exceptions but overall this is the norm). When something breaks and you want to fix it's hard to find the part (if they even have it and its not on order). Management are aware of these issues but has either no ambition/authority to do anything about it. They do not replace broken tools you get 150$ a year.  The management is pretty broken.
