A typical day at work, involves working as a team, we believe in an open space concept and all my coworkers are approachable and willing to help when needed.  The planning team will work together to prepare the budgets for each function (legal, HR, IT, ETC). Then I would have to perform a variance analysis by comparing this years budget to prior periods, and see whether the costs can be reasonably justified. My role involves finding ways to cut costs and ensure financial profitability in any means possible and ensuring that the business is not negatively impacted. This involves communicating with all pertinent parties such as the VP of each functions and a monthly cost tracking procedures are in place. 

I have improved by presentation skills, I have learned how to work effectively in a team and independently, how to complete tasks during stringent deadlines by performing tasks with higher level importance to lower level importance (TO DO LIST)

The most enjoyable part of the job was my fellow colleagues. The ability to constantly smile and have a friendly conversation gets your day going. They're always looking out for your well being in terms of your school and career and give you ways to improve and develop your career goals.

Working at Imperial Tobacco I have learned how a fast pace market works from the inside out. Working along side credit analyst, marketing as well as data entry you eventually learn to combine all these of these categories as a replenishment agent when doing the night shift. Learning new ways to create excel sheets to locate repeat offenders of customers not ordering their orders on time to Out of Stock and upselling to retailers who don't receive their entire order. Learning new and creative communication styles when talking over the phone with retailers and creating relationships with them from afar. The most enjoyable part of the job is that I have one of the biggest territories, I cover BC and I am able to call all my clients (over 700) within a week and majority of them know my name, expect my call, and enjoy my conversations even though they will be sweet and short at times. My performance is in the 96% for production and sales. I won 2 competitions/ awards within the sales department for making the most sales. My co-workers and I encourage each other even through the competition of making the most sales and we enjoy the young and professional dynamic we work in.

We are treated like a number and not like a human, the best part was getting to work with great people of the same level and the clients. Sales is about hitting numbers which everyone always did but never had any compensation or acknowledgement.

Not the greatest company if not your a employed by Imperial tobacco itself, they treat contract workers like garbage. Not family oriented and they don't care if you have emergencies or an out side life problem to attend to.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Imperial Tobacco and would recommend this as a place to work to anyone.

My typical day at work is delivering and distributing mail every day. I like the every day interaction with people while delivering and distributing mail to their respective places. I also enjoy the alone time. Some time for myself to reflect while working is a good thing too.

Great place to work, awesome people, only major drawback was a lack of upward mobility if you were located away from the major urban centers.  Lots of great corporate events, I was there a year and there were several privately catered parties and functions.

There was no respect for the Job Work/Life Balance. Managers always asking for more without giving anything. Burnout was wide spread within the company.

Due to restrictions in the market place it challenged you to find new ways to communicate with consumers. It was pressure filled environment but you were rewarded for your results

As being a machine operator and multiple job relief replacement with the Imperial tobacco gave me a good salary and good experience in the every day cigarette production. But sadly lost my position due to company closure and relocation.
