My experience here has been supportive and flexible, and I feel that management has a good ethos to help staff learn and grow. I understand that people in different jobs and programs may have a different experience but I have always felt that from the uppermost management, down to my direct Program Coordinator, that the management staff show up for frontline staff and support them from a strengths based approach. 

When I first started working here, the person with the least amount of seniority had been with the agency for 5 or so years, which demonstrates a good company culture (currently the majority of staff have around 15 years or more). 

A lot of the things I learn on the job and that I practice with the families I work with are also things that benefit me in my personal life and in my own relationships. 

An organization that values integrity, best practice and collaboration. A strong community supporting organization. 

Workplace culture is dynamic and changing: many long-timers leaving and new employees entering at all levels of the organization. Opportunity to be involved in shaping the evolving culture of ICS. 

Management is busy, but has high integrity and best practice in focus with their programs and clients, and they support their staff well. 

Most enjoyable part of working at ICS is being able to work with smart, values-driven people in the social sector who are trying to make a difference. Supporting clients and our community.

Constantly feeling support from bosses and co-workers. The people we serve always make my job feel valuable rewarding

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Seeing resources being offered in other communities when we struggle in our communities for similar resources.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great team full of support and encouragement. Constantly refreshing skill sets 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Helping people gain life skills to allow them to live more independent lives.

 This company is unethical from head to toe. So beware of any career move for such company. No proper HR policies followed. HR representatives not properly trained to conduct meetings in a professional manner. Extremely immature setting. Nepotism is an extreme factor in this agency, as family members and friends are the ones receiving jobs through interviews without having previous qualifications, for example sons/daughters of management. No opportunity for growth. Not respected or recognized for the work you will do. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Worked at the same residence almost every shift.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being stuck doing graveyard shift, no matter how much I applied for day positions.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was alright. Supervisor wasn't capable and very wishy-washy. Never had time to talk to you unless it worked for her.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Night shifts (graveyard) dragged.

Great place to work with a friendly and supportive environment. Supervisors are understanding and flexible when you are trying to juggle the needs of your family with your work life. The staff in Family Services are client centered, welcoming of new staff , and really helpful when you have questions. I worked there for many years and always felt appreciated and respected for my knowledge.  This has been such a great experience.

Skill building is possible becasue of all the short staffed programs yoy can bound around in

Stagnation and burning out front line with minimal management support

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Segregated between management and front line

I miss the fantastic team of people at ICS.  It was a fast-paced work environment requiring casual to business casual work attire.  I had the opportunity to work with many people and each one was genuinely kind.   It was a pleasure working with everyone and I would apply to support ICS again. I believe they are making a positive impact on Kamloops and surrounding communities - they do amazing work!

It was a nice place to work. There are many group homes. You have support from Co-workers and the program managers. Nice pay for that position. 
Plan to come into work 15 mins before time as you need to hand over to the other staff, who will then leave 15 mins earlier. 
Great documentation systems. And the home had a great setting and ambiance. 

ICS is a Good work Place, many programs to work in, You will work with Other Clients, must enjoy working with other people, if you can get into a part-time or Full time position, good benefits, but starting wages is not great, would be better if starting wage was $25. hour.
