Hot, humid and poor culture with the main reward being pizza.

Jobs are what you make of them.  Lots of opportunities to grow, develop and have a career.

Shift work isn’t for everyone.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Some crews and areas are more difficult, others are team oriented. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Shift work.  Having enough people is key to better days.  Safety is very important.

Overall this is an interesting industry with lots to do, as a mechanical engineering student I learned a lot while also using some previously learned skills. Sometimes it can get hectic but with proper communication and measurments everything is fine. Night shifts are more relaxed since there is less supervision.

I enjoyed setting my own priorities each day, dealing with interruptions that changed my priorities, and accomplishing the necessary tasks to make work life better for those whom I supported.
Unfortunately, the Mississauga office closed. Kingston and Maitland plant sites are still in operation.

One shift is 12 hour job duty 
Some days and some night of bunch will complete biweekly schedule.

But premium will be paid as on night or after some hour in evening.

Everyone is nervous or afraid of repercussions by HR, some managers are ruthless and uncaring of their employees, as a former supervisor I had witnessed totalitarian mindsets from senior management. Koch drives this mentally but below the surface. Formally DuPont was a very good employer.

The shift work can be a little rough but the pay and benefits are decent, the days off from working 12 hours shifts are nice. Management is okay and there seems to be some opportunities to move up and go to other areas in the plant. 

In the DuPont days a very respective and good place to hang your hat... Now I would not suggest this employment to anyone... People that make the place go are great... Everything else needs plenty of work

Large employer in the Kingston area. On-site Emergency response team and trades people. Warehousing, production, IT and logistics functions are all on site for this american owned Nylon manufacturing facility.

The pay is above average and are able to earn more within a year of employment.  Management favours those who play politics and drink the company "coolaid" over the honest to goodness hard workers.
