In a typical work day I am aware of my responsibilities and the job duties I am required to complete.  It is a Great place to work at because of the fantastic work relationship which I developed with my team and also the management team at IOOF. The most enjoyable part of my job was the confidence and compassion I acquired from the residents and staff who I came into contact with.  Even though it was hard to deal with the stessers of my job my fellow PSWS and Management staff made sure that I was able to carry on with my work having the opportunity to overcome obstacles together as a team. I also learned various aspects regarding different religions and cultures.

I worked here almost 13 years and I can say I’ve met a lot of great friends along the way staff and residents. Management on the other hand keeps changing and they have too many people in management! There’s lots of favoritism - there’s people that lose their job over silly unfairness who put their heart and soul into the job. And then there’s people that still have a job that should have been let go along time ago. No one listens to your problems and concerns, you get brushed off or told they’ll look into it when they won’t. CEO is constantly making new plans for future but never continues finishing the last project …. I’m happy I’m out of that toxic place! 

Management needs a change. No communication and miserable. CEO doesn’t even acknowledge anyone and is loud. Great place to work if you hate seeing your family because you will work every weekend and if you get a weekend off, they have the nerve to call you to see if you’ll work. No work, life, balance. The food they feed the residents is gross and the main dining area is crazy. How can anyone enjoy their meal? This place smells like urine too. One elevator so the poor residents have to wait forever to get to their floor. They need someone who’s capable of making changes and can see the issues and addresses them. Get rid of the upper management, bring in new, fresh blood. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
It’s well organized and laid out for the schedule they have a good union and overall has great staff and sonority is everything with this company the more of it you earn the more you advance. 
I have loved every moment of working!!! 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It’s obviously health care and has its stressors but just for a moment at a time. 


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great the buildings are under renovations and always strive to improve as they are well established company and have been open for several years. The work culture is great!

In my experience the nursing management at this facility has demonstrated a severe lack of fairness, fostering a culture of bullying and engaging in questionable actions. Their behaviour has created a toxic work environment that not only undermines company's values but also the wellbeing of the staff. It is evident that the management requires a complete overhaul, and competent individuals should be brought in to ensure a supportive and professional work environment for all staff members.

If you're looking to work your shift and get paid in a secure environment the IOOF will reward you with fair-good pay compensation.  If you're looking to better your career and develop as a professional then be ready for spending years grinding it out in a unionised environment where seniority rules all.  

Management have always been fair and have taken the time to develop relationships with their staff.  Generally are willing to ensure that you are heard.

IOOF was a nice place to work 
Frequently short staffed and workload is heavy. Orientation is a bit short for staff working on the floor. There should be more than 1 training shift per shift and your expected to provide availability for 3 weekends. Because they are so short staffed they will schedule you for all 3 weekends. 
There is favoritism within the home and if your new the staff don't treat you nicely.

IOOF is a very busy environment, however always puts the needs, health and happiness of its residents first. During the pandemic, I have been very impressed at how proactive and caring the management has been. Our residents have been covid free and this is due to the care and attention to infection control protocols of all employees. I would be happy to have my loved one cared for here and it is a privilege to work here. 

If you do your job correctly you have no issues. Stay away from the gossiping and go to do your job and you will have a good experience. Get caught up in gossip and become negative and you will have a negative experience. It’s all up to the individual. Your job is what you make it.

Short staffed constantly and staff are overworked staff there do not understand team work everyone there looks out for #1 they don’t work together to help each other out and everyone gossips about everyone managers do nothing when you ask for help or complain they show zero appreciation to staff and you only get promoted or get a head in this job if you kiss managers butts or are a favourite
