IRVING BIG STOP

I worked there for two summers. I didn't mind it but I didn't love it. I started out as hosting and bussing, which I didn't like at all. Once I got to serving I had more fun and made more money. The staff are pretty good, but some of the older staff like to complain. They tend to think that the younger kids have a poor work ethic, but most of us don't. 

You have to pay for your own uniform, which sucks. But you get to keep all of your tips, they aren't pooled. You do have to tip out to the kitchen and bussing/hosting staff but it's not a lot.

Management considers everyone else's opinion and not staff.
Overworked with no benefits and lots of items to deal with and no benefits or raise in pay .
Do not apply the jobs are really demanding and there is more to do than what you get paid.
You get called in at 6 am last minute because co-worker didn't show or decides they are sick after closing the night before.
No breaks and half hour lunch break without pay.
The more you do the more they want.

I was hired here as a server when I was a high school high school student. It's good money for what you're doing, and staff are mostly very friendly. But management was extremely disorganized when it came to scheduling, and I had issues with the owner, causing me to quit. Also a lot of unprofessionalism from management, a lot of gossip and negative comments. 

preparing the food that is to be made and served to the customers. learned to slice, prepare and cook some of the food. very friendly co-workers and get along great with everyone. i wish that i was getting more hours. enjoying the compliments i get when a customer enjoys what i have prepared.

Great management, but unfortunately it only allowed for one person in that department to be on at a time and unfortunately I found that to be too much of a health risk. Do to faulty undressed equipment one of my coworkers injured her shelf having a 200lb crush her and was unable to call for help. it wasn't until a passing janitor 20mins later that she was helped.

Very fast past staff complains while you are learning the job to management.  If staff don't like you your out. Staff set you up for failure.  Management doesn't help by pointing out you do good or wrong so you can in improve your just called to the office and they tell you to leave.  If you work there staff will be nice to your face especially certain women and stab in the back so watch your back.

Typical day at work lots of dishes, fast moving pace/non stop, bad communication between workers, management was bad, had to fight for all my checks. I learned how to use their dishwashers. And learned how to run the grills and power everything off at night.

Fast paced environment with several different duties to carry out each shift.  Was not comfortable with cleaning food equipment and working with the public at the same time.  Job is deserving of more than minimum wage.

Horrible management, work your butt off and get no thanks for it at all.
Terrible wages, no advancement.
The better workers get treated worse than the not so great ones, guess they are all backwards there
Almost like a prison with all the rules

just don't work here management don't care about you unless ur a female. and he will mees around with your private life,. jim gillie the manager got me pulled over on my way to work then fired me over it!
