A very strenuous workplace. Most days are long and tiring with a typical work day lasting 10 hours. Almost everyone working there is tense, stressed, or on edge. There's usually a dispute daily because of this, especially nearing the deadline of a certain project. Whether between two sections of the workplace (Paint, Construction, Art Direction, etc.) because of miscommunication or a mess-up from one or more sections. Upper management is aware of these issues and there are strides to resolve them. However it's difficult to wrestle this issue because of the nature of this line of work. For new employees with little to no experience, this can be very taxing both physically and mentally.

- Load in Around 8 a.m til 12-2 p.m, then return for load out around 8 p.m to 12-2 a.m. 
- Long days, but the break in between was unique. 
- I learned a lot about audio and video setup, as well team work and relationship building. 
- Excellent managers, very respectful and hard working, and not scared to get their hands dirty with the stage hands.
- Some co-workers were fellow students from my Entertainment Technology program, also met a lot of new and interesting people.
- Hardest part of the job was working til 2 a.m , and sometimes going back in the next morning.
- Meeting amazing people and learning new skills daily.

Teamwork, stimulating environment, variety of tasks, and learning opportunities 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The usual challenges that come with physical exertion and manoeuvring

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Serious about safety rules and hazards; obviously a good thing

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Unloading a truck or several, bringing equipment to where it belongs, helping to set it up, being off between 2:00 and 10:00 pm. Night shift is the same, only in reverse.

Great work to supplement your salary at a full time position. Work is not full time, but pay is great and the people make it worth it! It works like this. You get a call for an event. You can opt in, or out. If it works for both parties you attend. Each job varies depending on the event as does the pay. But for a part time, or supplemental salary it is wonderful!

I work on day call only to allow myself to have life outside of film (hours can be quite strenuous on relationships if full time). Additional part time employment is ideal so that I can leave myself open to work calls here and there.

great union to work for all across Canada and the united states would recommend to anyone that has a background or interest in the entertainment industry as we set up and tear down concerts conventions and comedy shows with the stage union while making movies with the film union

Working on TV and films is a good living, however work is limited to the few people at the top of the union, I cannot support myself with only 4 months of work a year and so I need a change of career!

Expect 12-19 hour days. You could go from sitting on your phone for an hour to rushing around for an hour, or sweat all day. Hierarchy similar to military. There is no such thing as a typical day. It's the modern day carnival industry.

Meyah...Get to work and pretend that life is going to be ok.  Take many false instructions and do that over and over every hour.  Pretend that the employer cares but they dont..weeee!
