I’m a home delivery driver and the store I work in is dreadful. Expected to arrive an hour early to get the deliveries sorted and get ahead for the day as people don’t give a flying one about the drivers. This company expects us to deliver 11-12 drops in 2 hours and then come back and get 100+ crates of shopping ready in 10 minutes. If we’re late then we’re the once facing the backlash from customers and head office, the routine they have just doesn’t work, drivers hardly ever get paid for lunch breaks that they work through and basically get told to deal with it. There is always a problem with the labels on crates from morning crew or missing shopping and it all falls on the drivers. I would avoid this company at all costs it effects your mental health really badly and makes you feel like not turning up everyday at a job you’re supposed to enjoy. 

I was left to basically  to get on with it had hardly any help from store manager .worked  a lot past my time most days as I did not get a lot of support on some days . over all I loved my job and a good relationship with other staff.  which we went out on a regular basis we had a lot of parties for people getting married and babies being born.
I learned a lot of how to do special promotions and display the products.the hardest part for me was management not communicating enough and making decisions on my own. I enjoyed my work because of regular customers who came in store always asked how I was and I asked in return , helping customers to find products in store and offering alternatives.

No work life balance at all. Expected to do 12-14 hour days. No support from area manager just micro managed. Senior managers told you to jfdi and if don’t like it then leave. If your face don’t fit you be in for a rough ride.i opened a brand new store with all new team store out performed its expectations but no reconditioning of what was achieved, just mindless audits that kept changing. Salary pretty good but when you worked out the hours expected to work it’s average. Endless freezer changes so late nights expected I mean through the night or the task would not get done. This was a glorified iceland store. Think twice before you move jobs on promises as don’t materialise. Good luck

Loading your van up to deliver to customers doing all the checks needed to do on your van start and finish day all round good job

I started as a cleaner and worked my way up to a manger in less than 2 year showing that you can definitely improve you’re skills there and advance to a higher level but it is that rushed and stressful that in a 9-12 hour shift I only find time for a 20 minute break if I’m lucky as the business is very poorly run. I am also asked to not take my legally entitled holidays for the year and also contacted by higher up management asking me to end my holiday early so that I can come back to work. 

A rewarding and friendly place of work. Every day differs to what happens but a normal day consists of recieving deliveries, putting them out,sorting tills out and opening the shop whilst I learnt all the basic shop duties. Management are lovely always there to help but the hardest part of the job is multi tasking getting everything done giving only one result at the end of it. The most enjoyable part is working as a team.

i loved my job at icelands it gave me independence and i worked hard i only left my job to have my son who is now 14 i love working on the checkout and loved to talk to the customers and it was a great job and a great atmosfere i did a lot not just the checkout
assisting on the stock take and stacking shelves helping with the deviverys and general work on shop floor and packing home deliverys

often expected to do 2+ weeks without a day off, management would be rude to you if you refused to come in on a day off. many days i would stay 3+ hours and not get paid and was told they couldn’t afford it, but i wasn’t allowed to leave. this would happen at least 2-3 times per week. 

All days the same, very boring. Always giving jobs to do and no time to do them correctly. No correct breaks for how many hours you worked. Work on your own most if the time. Expected to do a late and then back early next morning. Stock not rotated correctly. No training given. No cleaning system in place

Expext to work at least 10 hours volunrary, unpaid work per week.  Whilst management sit on their rear's drinking tea and coffee in the office.  No respect given to the lower ranks and zero promotional prospect, they only go to management favourites... .. Avoid...
