Ideal Protein

Terrific employees at this establishment, but the overall management team is toxic and lacks professionalism. The notion of work-life balance is horrible, and the salary could be much better. (They say the salary is government-competitive but it really isn’t.)
Management teams are mostly based in the US, so they come to Canada as they please (or when they can with reasons of Covid restrictions).

I started  this field of work when I retired from my main job. I wanted to help people get better. I am able to sense people that need encouragement and I like to help get them smiling again. This job was more layed back but an on going education in the food industry. Clients looked to me for advice and ideas on how to cope or get through day.

The hardest part of the job was having to work alone most of the week and lack of communication from the person I needed to confirm things with. 

I actually did the diet and loved the Ideal food.

My day was very full and enjoyable. I learned about how frustrating people can get about being overweight. Helping them was such a pleasure for me. I loved my co-workers, they were a great bunch of people. The hardest part of the job was when someone came in and didn't lose any weight or inches for that week. You could see the frustration on their faces. That was very difficult to see.

I worked for the company for 6 years and I lived situations of micromanagement that later were solved by demoting the manager.
I moved to a different department where I was part of a great team with a great manager. The work schedule is not flexible, but you might be allowed to work from home depending on what department you work for.

I learned to manage my responsibilities within the international department.
The most enjoyable part of my day was having brainstorming sessions with their coach.
Hardest part of the job was responding to International Regulatory Affairs issues relating to International borders.

Good place to work but some jobs are only contract.
Tasks are quite repetitive for some positions.
Very friendly coworkers.
Great social committee with activities planned each month.
Unfortunately, benefits are a little weak. No dental or glasses. Vacation is now at 2 weeks for any non managerial position.

I have nothing but good to say about IP . I started with them near conception and rose to the top with them. They are still going strong today. I only left because of my earnings in the company and the new owners would have shaved that considerably so I opted for a payout.

This company offers great professional development opportunities to staff, and facilitates internal promotions, training, and the chance to grow one's career.

Great company to work for. Appreciate the materials and references that the company provides. Really appreciate making an impact on client's lives every day.

office manager is on a power trip every minute of the day (owners sister).

some coworkers understand that you dont live there and can pull off ridiculous hours.
