Typical day: could be running the plant, out setting valves in, dropping presses.
What ive learned: nothing translatable to any other company so nothing of value really.

Management: management is awful, bullies, wouldn't trust most of them to run a bath either, they don't realise what we workers actually do and just treat us like idiots.

Workplace culture: its a good laugh when its just us boys but management soon find a way to try and ruin it.

Hardest part: waking up to expose myself to harmful chemicals such as crystalline silica, So2 and other harmful chemicals/dangerous equipment for a measly wage that barely covers cost of living.

Best part: the boys you work with and going home

The workers around you make the job fun and we would constantly shoot too work safe and efficient. If you like working in the elements this is the job for you, no a/c in the summer no heat in the winter, pay is better than most, non union so expect what comes with that.

The company values I appreciate but wish it was experienced across all departments.

Dealing with different personalities.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The department I worked in, was very toxic. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Unfortunately I dealt with alot of toxicity.

Much remains to be improved in terms of respiratory protection.small business in terms of the number of employees, the atmosphere is full of very fine carbon dust that we breathe. There are showers to clean ourselves but there are still lungs that cannot be cleaned.

Each day presents new challenges and they are willing to listen to your ideas. Their committment to safety and training is outstanding. They will, when possible advance their employees and have been very compassionate when it comes to family.

Good if you are in maintenance, boring if you are in production

A typical day at work included hourly testing in a lab setting, and basic maintenance around the mill. I learned a lot about working in a lab, and with the specific equipment. Management and workplace culture was amazing. Hardest part of the job was the long hours and nightshift.

If you want to do nothing with electrical and be a millwright and do nothing with your head, apply here, and if can't fabricate metal, they will laugh at you, This job is a complete joke for an electrician, I worked here three months and walked out. The job is pathetic!

Good initial training, once your signed off, very much another number.

Middle and higher management are less than helpful, clueless and out for themselves. Alot of "sweeping under the rug" moments when issues arrise on a local managemebt basis.

Great place to work, driven, hardworking employees, staff was always pleasant, safety is a priority, competitive wages, great leadership skills. Excellent relationships with staff.
