In the driver/host position. You park and average of 21 cars. Check the lot which means making sure cars are secured by locking doors and making sure windows are rolled up. Shelter checks make sure telephone is operating pencils and impark pads in stock and shelters are clean of debris. As a host data entry consist of customers flight information, tag and pick up time. Make sure keys are correctly matched. Money debit card credit card transactions. Impark paper work related functions. These are just a few of the functions. 

I learned impark parking car procedures as employee and customer

Management most of them are not qualified meaning they lack the ability to train, supervise resolve employee conflict in an quick efficient manner. Change work procedures that are cost effective and productive. Many of them hire family and friends resulting in favoritism and a tense work environment. Their is strong lack  of knowledge on how to interact in a culturally diverse work place. HR is not neutral and have formed friendships if you have any issues and have to escalate the matter consider yourself terminated the very day you make a complaint it does not matter that your concern is valid. If someone in the management click does not like you they will make working unbearable placing you in positions you are not properly trained in and than write you up for errors. A common tool to get rid of you is to put you in a curb supervisor positon as much as five days a week. In this position you stand outside for a eight hours shift, give tickets to hostile customers that are not properly parked and under no circumstances are you aloud to sit down. 

The culture at Impark is very diverse. In the hiring process their is no discrimination against race, ethnic background or religion. 

The hardest part of the job is parking cars outside in extremely cold temperatures in addition to performing shelter and lot checks. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting people from many different countries and all walks of lives, families single parents business men and women. Some people travel with their pups, dogs, cats or kittens it helps you get through the day when you get to pat a furry creature. 

 Impark employees if you desperately need  your job and you are clearly being treated unfairly do not make a complaint to HR. You will be terminated this practice has been going on for years and does not improve. Know if you apply with this company management is extremely poor at this point the company has to be aware and choose to allow it.

My position there was a one year contract job, so the "Job Security/Advancement" rating did not apply for me.

I was training the sales representatives all over North America in using the newly implemented contract management system. I worked closely with the attorneys in the department to insure that all contracts would conform to this new system for Impark.

I learned the software for the Emptoris program, how to train individuals with this program, how to conduct webinars for the training process via Citrix, creating reports on the status of parking facilities for the CFO.

My co-workers were extremely supportive and helpful. There was great collaboration between all people in the Legal Department.

The hardest part of the job was learning the Emptoris program. It is a very sophisticated program and I did not have enough time to at the job to learn all it's intricacies.

The most enjoyable part of the job was having my own schedule to getting work done and being able to work with people who were very nice.

In my employment with Imperial parking, I have a pivotal position in the partnership between Impark and Chung Hsin Electric and Machinery Manufacturing Corporation, a Taiwanese firm.

I start off the day by attending to the administrative part of the job before going in for the training classes for the oversea managers from Chung Hsin. I am responsible for organizing the training 
classes, interpret the class lessons from English to Chines (Mandarin). When the class ends, I would spend the late afternoon translating the training materials for the next day.

I am able to get along with all my co-workers, managers and business associates. 

I have learned a lot about how parking business is run and managed. The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting people and being able to show them around Vancouver and share our Canadian culture with them.

A typical day at the job is very plain and not exciting. I have learned how to communicate with customers. Being the fact that most of the people that we encounter for the job are not very happy with us. Management does there best to assist us with everything we need, but as a big company somethings are not address at all, which include uniforms, shoes, and protecting of its employees. The hardest part of the job is that the company is not compensating for the wages when they have hiked all there prices for there services. I don't believe this is fair and making harder to be pleased on the job.The most enjoyable part of the job the amount of people I meet and the co-workers of the department.

Maintained parking lots, power washing parking lots, customer service at gates. Worked closely with sercuity regarding any suspicious activity. Work was the same but varied daily as circumstances dictated, making it non boring. Worked on own without direct supervision.
Winter job description included snowplowing and shovelling.

It was cold standing outside in the winter, selling parking tickets.  Sometimes, very busy, and slightly risky directing traffic.
They made an exception for me one day, and refused me the next.
Working K-days for me was fun, but there was a high volume of traffic that went through my gate.
A good job for somebody with spare time on their hands, who doesn't mind being out in the cold sometimes.

Many things at this company could be made easier with communication. Most employees do the bare minimum since its union. Management expects you to write x number of violation notices which promotes unethical practices to reach those numbers. There is also commission for writing parking tickets which is a grey area. This is a good role for those who don't feel empathy or remorse

Workplace culture was enjoyable and inclusive for all employees. As a workplace collective they demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and all employees were approachable for any queries that needed to be answered.

- Upper management has personal quarrels between one another and is unable to work collaboratively. 
- The operations staff is undervalued and underpaid. Very minimal room for advancement.
- Recently there has been a high turnover due to the unprofessional upper management.
- There are no yearly reviews or opportunities to discuss increase in pay.

Poor management. They only have 1 HR person that deals with all of Canada, which makes inquiries regarding work/personal work very difficult.  Management does not show any interest in addressing issues for field workers wither.  Shiny is a shallow supervisor, at chinook mall location
