The management of this company is very uneducated and are not open to  any ideas to improve the company.  The managers are overbearing and very controlling. They care very little about the individuals and staff. 
They move staff from home to home caring very little how little training they provide to staff. Poor orientation with the individuals, often less than 1 hr of training is provided if you are placed into a new home. 
Workplace culture is poor. Staff have a very low opinion of management and feel bullied by management. 
Hardest part of the job is the little training provided before they put you to work. Not only is this bad for staff but also difficult for the individuals. 
Some individuals have behaviour concerns and staff again get very little time to get comfortable with them. 
Most enjoyable part of the job is being with the individuals and helping make their lives better when management allows it. 
Would I recommend this place for employment definitely not. 
This company is only interested what looks good on paper, they do not care about the people although they say they do. That is simply untrue in every sense of the word. 
When a position becomes available they just pick someone they like rather than giving equal opportunities for everyone to apply. 

A typical day at work can be busy. The individuals are great. Some of them have high behaviours with complex needs but the management also provides you with the extra support to make sure that you are comfortable to work. If a staff has a concern, they are always willing to listen and help. The owner is an amazing guy and always looks out for the best interest of everyone across the agency. There will be some challenging days but please don't be afraid to ask for help. There are some staffs that are not willing to come forward with their concerns because they are either afraid or think that they will come off annoying which needs to change. There is no tolerance for people who sleep or don't do their job. The management will not think much before terminating those employees but also really appreciates and acknowledges the employees who work really hard. 

Working within the SIL Outreach department with this company was enjoyable. There was enough variation to the daily job tasks and you are not stuck behind a desk all day. Job tasks included anything from assisting a client with household maintenance, employment and volunteering, recreation, attending SIL groups, assisting with moves, navigating the court system, and much more. Valuable experience can be obtained in this role as there are a variety of challenges the SIL clients experience and for the SIL Worker to assist with. The SIL team and team lead were an exceptional team in my experience and I enjoyed working with them all. Some setbacks experienced revolved around their vacation policies and some strict policies that made it tough to take some needed time off.

If you can suck up to the young, immature managers you will survive here. But you will never thrive. You. Don't. Matter. Neither do the individuals (whose income supports the agency). Everybody whispers in the homes becose of the cameras (sound built in so they can listen and record you). Thefts and zero respect for clients privacy and property - come from the manager level. Policy is to not provide employment references (but expect you to have them when hired - they don't play by common courtesy rules). They fire you if you are not over-the-top friendly (suck-up) to managers and team leaders. Team Leaders just want to escape and have much hatred for management.

This job is very hands on experienced, it help me enhanced more of my skills dealing with residences with mental disabilities. I have learned how to deal with patients with disabilities to develop, strengthen and support multi-faceted links within community and promotes full and meaningful living. Committed to providing connections and opportunities for people with disabilities to engage, interact and participate in their unique communities and the broader community. Promotes  independence, foster and nurture healthy relationships, and tailor relevant supports, activities opportunities, aligned to their interest desires, and needs.

It is clear that the client comes first at this agency. The management team is very supportive, and try to find solutions for problems that come up. You can bring forward concerns or suggestions and be listened to. Working with the clients can be very rewarding, and there are some amazing and helpful staff that have been here for many years. I'm puzzled about some of the negative reviews, but think it may be because the agency isn't afraid to fire people that aren't there to work, or that mistreat the clients.

I worked for this company for many years in various positions. They have a high level of standards as they want what is best for the individuals! The work environment and individuals' homes are always kept clean and tidy. The agency cares about the health and safety of staff and has implemented many strategies to ensure safety. Management and supervisors are always out visiting with individuals and staff and looking for ideas to improve.

Great place to work and to gain experience in this field!!

Staff are friendly, hardworking and committed to the individuals they support. They are the best, and an asset to the organization! Management, including head team-leader are warm and empathetic. Opportunity for upward mobility. For most part, it was a good experience working with this organization.

Nothing , it is only stressful

Changing schedules every day without any notice. If any mistake happen at new place then always sends warnings

No respect for workers and very micromanaged

Policies are strict. But when you take a step back to under why, you see the benefits to the individuals being supported. They are the priority and that shows.

Long hours. But that is always something to be expected in our field.
