The job itself was not terrible, however, management and knowing who to call when there is an issue seems to be their biggest flaw. On more than ONE occasion, I was left unknowing with what I was dealing with when it came to working with clients. ASLS has a program where you can read the clients files and provide a knowledge base when it comes to knowing what meds are to be given, what are current triggers, any general incident reports, etc. However, I was not given access to multiple client's files which results in being a liability when it comes to their company. I will say that there are excellent people that work here and provide a huge support for some clients who have no other supports. But I did not feel comfortable going into certain homes without knowing if I was dealing with a client with severe autism, FASD, or brain injury.

I like my position at ICE. The role is fulfilling and challenging. Shifts starts at 9a ends at 5p Monday to Friday. NO weekends.

My typical day includes reviewing field staff time sheets and ensuring they match the assigned schedules. Process both paid and unpaid time off requests. Ensuring all documentation is accounted for. 

I find that the office environment is not entirely the best. Depending on who you are is how you are treated by staff and management. 

The hardest part of the job is lack of communication between departments and within departments themselves. 

The most enjoyable part of my job is the work its self. It is never the same each day. You have a variety of tasks to perform. Ensuring the staff is paid on time and correctly is my goal.

This job is unlike any I've ever had as it allowed me to gain exposure to various people and their disabilities in a safe and fun environment. It does not feel like a typical job as there is minimal office time. The main drawback would be the rate of pay and the fact that there are no benefits.

I owe my first training in Calgary to ICE; I will always work for ICE but they don't have enough hours for me. I will always recommend ICE to friends as the company that will put them on the right path when it comes to training and staff support.

You work one on one with clients unlike other companies where you often have 2-3 clients with you at any given time. By having it 1-1 it’s easier to fully focus on that clients specific needs and how to make their community access the most meaningful to them

Averagely okay. if you are lucky to have a good manager, you'll be fine
Unending training requests from everyone even when its not really necessary. overall, i'll rate this employer 3/5

ICE je a very good and stable job, they have respect to the employees every one full like at home and myself would like to get a full time job there  and more

Working in this company increased  my level of nursing knowledge and the supervisors and coworkers are really supportive.The experience I got from here really really an asset for me.
