Pros: 

-	Office is centrally located next to the Eaton centre
-	Good work/life balance and work from home policies 
-	Benefits and pension matching are very nice 
-	EDI and ESG initiatives galore…if you like those types of things…whether that has resulted in any actual changes to the agency/company is indeed very questionable 

Cons: 

-	Lack of employee career development. Year-over-year, management loves to emphasize employee development, but many employees are stuck in the same role and can’t move up. The employees who do move up the ladder know the right people. As the saying goes, “it’s more who you know than what you know”. 
-	Some get promoted to management positions even though they don’t know how to lead people. This has led to some direct reports going on leave of absence or quitting due to poor treatment by their respective manager. The sad thing is some of the people who leave are the best at their jobs. But, putting yourself FIRST should always be the priority at this place. 
-	The yearly salary increase you get based off your performance is pathetic. It doesn’t keep up with the pace of inflation. The employees at the outsourced contractor, which is tied to this crown agency by the hip, get better salary increases PLUS bonuses. Which is crazy because the outsourced contractor is seen as being an “extension of IO” and that we’re all part of “one team”. Absolute nonsense. Employees complain about the outsourced contractor ALL THE TIME. 
-	IO’s parent ministry (MOI - Ontario Ministry of Infrastructure) and board of directors needs to provide more oversight over the day-to-day operations of this agency. Random new departments like EDI and ESG are created with new executives brought in on six figure salaries with little to no actual “real world” results. Just lots of pretty PowerPoint slides and management consultants getting a big pay day. 


A/P job such as, Coded,batched,matched,entered and posted invoices in SAP as well as in GP accounting software.
A/R job such as, Reviewed customer account, make collection call, prepared customer statement.

Good and friendly environment kept me enthusiastic, energetic and confident to update my knowledge and experience by using new accounting software SAP and GP.

My A/P Coordinator and Controller were very cooperative which allows me to work without stress. It is only workout when management is perfect.

Co-workers were knowledgeable, friendly as well as always eager to guide me whenever I need help.

No matter the job, there are bond to be an easy and hard part. What I 'm interested in are the hard parts. For me hard part was to work on demanding and huge, but my wish to work on it, accounting software. I enjoy while working and learning those software.

The most enjoyable part of the job was to use my knowledge and experience, to create social network, to work with different industry, keep me current as well as confident for future.

Work/life balance is quite good.  Most workers are able to work from home using their own home computer and sign onto the secure online network.  There are several large-scale public infrastructure projects that can be very interesting to work on as part of a large team of multi-disciplinary professionals, such as land use planners, environmental specialists, heritage specialists, commercial transaction analysts, legal counsel, construction project managers, property management, and so on.  Some of the difficulties include reporting requirements back to government, dealing with political issues, limited government funding and one of the top concerns among workers is the freeze on salaries.  There is a 2% annual increase for staff earning less than $100k, but a total freeze for those making over that.

really appreciate the work environment here. The pace is slow and manageable, which allows for a healthy work-life balance without the constant pressure you might find elsewhere. The extended health insurance package is excellent and provides strong coverage that gives peace of mind. Colleagues are friendly, collaborative, and supportive, which makes teamwork enjoyable and helps create a positive atmosphere day-to-day. It’s the kind of environment where you don’t feel stressed about coming to work, and instead you can focus on doing your tasks well at a steady rhythm. Another big plus is the stability and benefits that come with working in government, which makes it feel like a secure and reliable place to build a career. Overall, I honestly can’t think of any major cons at this point. The combination of good colleagues, solid benefits, and a balanced pace makes this a great workplace.

The company restructures frequently and I stopped learning new things about a year in.The salary/benefits, work/life balance and culture is fair, depending on your department/division.

Speaking from only my experience, my manager was not the greatest. When we were both challenged to effectively communicate with one another I found this individual to be insensitive and disingenuous.

Like any potential position you take a risk. If what's important to you is doing some engaging work on meaningful projects for the province of Ontario then take a chance. If it's important to you to work in a place that has a strong culture of collaboration, positive relationships and developed managers than this place may not be the place for you.

Pros:
- the projects IO is involved in are often impactful
- decent work from home policy

Cons:
- pay is too low and benefits are unimpressive for a government agency (e.g., no defined benefit pension)
- promotions are often based on favouritism instead of merit, including within the legal team
- few good project teams but many lack the competence needed to perform the job well, which often results in legal doing more than it should
- excessive administrative burden due to some outdated processes and lack of commitment to improving them 
- perpetually understaffed while continuing to staff new projects 
- once you get acclimated, you notice that many people within legal are unhappy with the job

Cons: Management is clueless so one can spend a lot of time slacking off which wastes an enormous amount of (tax payers) money.
Dozens of VPs, "Senior" executives and other inflated titles. High turn over rate for the lower class staff which causes numerous delays for internal projects.
Overpaid, inefficient.
Experience gained will not be transferable to the private sector.
Stop just paying lipservice to improving employee retention and start taking action on issues.
Toxic culture, favouritism, bullying among the workers, cliques,  too many layers of management.
Pros: Main office locations are downtown.

I spent almost 2 years in this company and my personal  opinion is this is not the company you would like to stay... Though staff and people mostly nice however management it is totally different story...
If you have your own opinion you will find yourself out. If you are not the best friend of your boss and don't laugh when he laughs - you don't belong to this place. If you you don't like a baseball and you boos does... you don't belong to this place...
Too sad and it was a waist of my time being in this organisation. I would stay away from this place

If you have a strong sense of work and want to advance your career with recognition for your achievements, this is not the place for you. However, this is a good place if you are not interested in developing your career while just doing what you are asked to do without change. Or you just need to be good at making relationships with someone who's in exe or hr management position. 

The 2018 expose on the culture in the legal department at the Ministry of the Attorney General extends to this government agency equally.  In 2 years, greater than 70% turnover in legal department.  Voices of reason are drowned out in a game-of-thrones-esque environment.  Only good thing that can be said about it is the work-life balance is marginally acceptable for downtown Toronto.  Avoid if possible.
