when I first started, I was quite excited about working at IIC, however that didn't take long to change as I came to soon realize management was absolutely incompetent, everyone is just trying to move up the corporate ladder with no real structure for those who are not team leads, supervisors etc. They hire people on contracts and let people go even after passing probation. Pay is not sufficient. A lot of favoritism as well which is unfair to those actually having to take all the calls, because others get to "work offline." No receptionist so member service team has to rotate on the minimum 6 days a month to cover the reception area. The lights in reception area gave me countless migraines.

- con the salary is slightly lower than average but due to the work life balance and hybrid environment ( 6 days in office a month) can be worth the sacrifice in pay.

The best teams to work with, caring, collaborative, amazing training provided and a fun place to work. Super flexible to move everyone to work from home during the pandemic last year. The IT department is so helpful! Enjoyed working here and learned a lot.

If you ever want to see first hand how a 1970s and 1980s company leadership looked like, you've come to the right place.   It is really an old boys club.   Very poor place to work or grow.

Good place to work. Helping a volunteer council can be challenging as they all have full time jobs to handle. Contribution to the industry feels valuable in educating the P&C insurance industry.  

It has been a valuable experience to be a part time instructor for the Institute. The methods though need updating to current technology and instructors need to be paid more for their service.

I like the Insurance Institute. It is a small IT shop with friendly staff. Lots of complexity and challenges. Boss is flexible and understanding  but work can be challenging.
