Situation: Was hired full-time. Never received any full-time hours. People are continuously being hired to fill full-time positions yet I've been working there since October and nothing. Now extra shifts are cut at my site, so I'm only getting 24 hours a week. To top it off, not allowed to take any weekends off for some reason even though I have unused vacation days

Observations about the company: Scheduling is a wreck, HR doesn't help any of the employees- actually NO ONE does. There's no one at Intelligarde who works in management who actually care about the guards. If they make mistakes and you don't notice them yourself, you're on your own. Supervisors are unable to train. Other guards are incompetent, but that' the fault of the supervisor in a lot of cases. I've learned a lot of things about how poorly some corporations run, but nothing about actual security except for examples of what not to do. It's basically a dead end job that looks better than saying that you worked at McDonald's. It honestly seems like the higher-ups (Scheduling, HR, CEOs, Dispatch, Duty Pros) don't take the interests of the guards into consideration.

They demand too much from you, but they don't give you what they promise. They will put you in a risky situation, where you are going to be all by yourself. You'll have to pay for the training and find a day off to attend that training. They'll pay you minimum wage, and you'll have to buy your own equipment.

However, new immigrants feel depressed, low and demotivated while new to the country. Security guard position allows one to interact with the diversified community gradually adapting to the Canadian culture. Eventually, the job becomes a part of life for bread and butter to the accommodation, helping and caring for each other.

Work culture is horrible. Management is nonexistent and allows other employees to do whatever they want. A lot of Indians working there on a work visa without a valid security license. They hire people from off the streets who are Indian and they get promoted over you without knowing anything about the security industry. Dispatchers are rude and think they can talk down to you any kind of way.

Typical day; Supervisor yells at employee because the employee was following protocol and not the supervisors instructions (their opinion)

Always mocked by public.
Dog eat dog environment, as in the company has a policy where if an employee can catch another employee slacking off they'll be rewarded, so no friend making.

You meet great people (other security guards) in this company and it's kind of worth it. you get to work whenever you want and you can work long hours. But the pay sucks and management and the higher ups will treat you like trash. the company only cares about money.

At the time I was employed you had to go and pick up your checks every 2 weeks from the head office and the management did not give out benefits to its employees - not to mention the pay was not worth the trouble of getting out of bed.

ok, worked every day 16 plus hours with little to no rest, Little to no support or thanks at left hanging and out in the cold at the end. Tried to reach out several times but management were too busy. Wasnt paid properly in the end and payroll manager a real idiot!

I worked here for 3 months and had to quit due to multiple issues such as never being able to get ahold of anyone for payroll issues, being moved around and very disorganized scheduling program many times i show up and there is soem one there. 

I recommend stay away from this company.
