Intelligarde Security

Its hard for me to write a 100% negative review about a company that puts a lot of stress on their employees. In a sense it would be pretty easy however Working for Intelligarde has taught me some valuable lessons that I can carry on to future places of employment.

There really is no "typical day at work" everyday is different and has its own set of challenges, this is what has kept me here for this long. I can never guarantee what will happen once I book on shift. Through working for Intelligarde I believe I have been in situations that many other security companies don't normally deal with (according to friends in other companies). I have taken time to familiarize myself with things like the MHA (Mental Health Act) because we come across people within the community that have issues in regards to this. Not knowing and not being able to understand a persons mental capacity can greatly effect the outcome of any situation. The learning experience is still ongoing...

Management...this is a massive part as to why people leave this company in my personal opinion. Now to be honest I haven't had the pleasure to deal with any management other than my direct Supervisor. We actually had a very solid relationship however I have seen reviews and spoke to fellow employees and have heard horror stories about employees missing hours, not being scheduled full-time, or not being able to book days off. Again this never related to me so I have little to say.

I would have to say one of the main reasons I'm still here is because I work with a SOLID team. My district is great and I have a great relationship with all my partners, I cant complain.

Hardest part of the job is returning after you get paid. when you clock 120+ hours and only take home $1000 its very depressing. However, prior to becoming an employee I was advised that this company had one of the lowest pay structures in the industry and that it was based more on experience. Which I accepted as I am here better my career advancement.

All in all I would have to say that the most enjoyable part is confronting new challenges and never knowing how your shift is going to be. Its exciting.

the 17$ is for those who at least have 1-2 years security guard experience. I got interviewed at 12pm and  and right away put me in on the same day from 14:00 till the next morning 6am  yes 6am, but only because one of her employee had to leave on that Friday afternoon,so she need it a ''Body" it was hilarious.
no professionalism at all and be very careful with the promises because if its not in writing and signed it wont happen.
its only 14$ which you can make at any grocery store even more.
My security license cost me at least  450$  and so i can make 14$?
they don't know  why people leaving their company ,why no one is applying. Originally they want people to the port -part time , for 14$
go sit 12hr in the dark and expose ur self to danger for 14$ on the port. for the mall its also part time.
They will want u to get police clearance which will cost u money , 
then u will have to buy ur self some paints and boots so by the time u get there to start for the 14$ u are so broke that u wish u never find this place.
if u can skip this do it,
and if u go and apply ,well then good luck !

If you look at the employment reviews on this site, you will notice that the good ones are all stated as "NOT HELPFUL" you want to know why? Because the company bribes their employees to write good reviews. Giving them gift cards in exchange for positive reviews. They are all lies.

It is poorly managed, it has absolutely NO regard for the employees that it hires, you get paid like garbage, you get treated like garbage. They cut my pay as well as my position after telling me my position and pay would not change, and they never even notified me about it. I just found out when I got my pay cheque. When you issue a complaint about someone, nothing is ever done. You might as well throw your complaint into a garbage bin, because management won't take it seriously.

I have worked with other security companies in the past and I regret coming to this one. Do not waste your time. You will never progress in the company as they say you can / will. They are lying to you because they need guards because nobody wants to stay working for them. Do not fall into this trap.

my history in working with security expands to about  three years, and through all these years of working for several different security companies, i have come to a concrete decision to stay with intelligarde for as long as i can. the company offers as much work hours you need or close. management is easy to talk to and almost any adjustments can be made that you may come to require. security guards themselves are usually friendly except for the ones that have been working at the company for a sum of 15 years.the most important aspect of the company that made me want to do a review is the fact that the company is alot more organized than other companies, making shifts, overtime, scheduling be carried out in an easy flow.

I was hesitant to become a security guard however I was in need of a job. The training was not hard to get my security license, it was about a week of class and a full day first aid and CPR class. One thing that only took the first week of being in inteligarde. Was they take some of the toughest places to be a guard like the first place that was assigned was the jane and finch mall. This made me feel a little freaked out I declined that decision to place me there. The next week I got placed at another place I never felt at risk however it was too much risk with little reward. I just never felt the pay was worth the risk.

They are well organized with a 24hr dispatch call system. Opportunity for advancement abound if you commit your time to the industry. On the whole the supervisors have been easy going but professional in their conduct and carrying of their duties. I learned discipline, attention to detail in memo book entry and report writing.
My most enjoyable part was the chance to work with other people from various cultures, background and with various experience set.

The wages could definitely be higher
Being with company since 2016 my work rate decreased because I felt like I wasnt being paid enough for my valuable time 

I made up to 18 n hour on certain sites which was nice 
And they dropped me down to 14 which is horrible for an adult to make in this modern time


Other then that it's not a bad company to work for 
In security u gotta know how to balance work and life


Or they will work you like a slave n you have no life

I worked for the company fur about year was promoted to site supervisor real quick as the one above me left. The site i.worked at had great atmosphere and were awesome to work with even though it wasn't itlligarx guards. Pay is bad but most security is. Also.lost contract called me 3 days after we had lost the contract Vd told me not to go. I knew b4 management that we were no longer need which is pretty sad

I was lied to about being promoted and receiving a pay raise if I didn’t join a union. months went by with no promotion and i was still being paid $14.75/ hour, so i quit. As of January 10  2019 Its been 7 months and they still won’t  give me my record of employment OR my t-4 tax slip. If that don't tell you what kind of people they are, well... good luck. Oh ya, if you do decide to work for these guys and a union rep asks you to join there union ? DO IT !

Company full of fobs in the office don’t know what they are doing  , these guys have no work , useless company . I recommend everyone not to go to this  rusty company they will not pay you properly will leave you in debt because they will not give you enough hours , I was promised 40 hours every week . Everyone sitting in the office is a scam they really only trying to receive there own cheque with overtime they don’t care about you ! these guys they left me in debt
