This used to be the most amazing company to work for. The culture was great. Management inspired greatness. Then Brookfield came along. It’s now an awful, toxic culture. Management is distrustful and treats employees like a commodity. Departments are understaffed, people are overworked and burnt out. It’s a miserable place to be. The only positive is that the amazing pre Brookfield benefits haven’t disappeared yet. I’m sure that’s coming. 

no clarity on your job role. Management do not know what they are doing. Building is nice but management is completely clue less. No overtime given even though lot of work was involved. Do not recommend working for this company. As a contractor there is no space for you or office. They just dump you in a meeting room for your entire contracting life. Project manager was very biased and lot of favoritism from upper management.

A typical day at IPL, for my previous position, was to call users, check tickets, log tickets, received support calls, call vendors and to deploy new workstations for new users. Even with the decline in oil and gas sector, IPL looks to diverse its business with their Heartland Project at Fort Sask.

Brookfield came in fired anyone with experience. Literally, the people who built the company were let go. Brookfield have no idea how to run this company, it has too many different contracts for Brookfield to successfully manage. The people remaining are petrified about losing their jobs. No one collaborates, each division hate each other (designed by Brookfield). Burning Dumpster Truck

Great place to work with respect to the type of work.  I found there was some behind the scene middle mgmt issues that could affect the work tasked with.

Good people, good environment. IPL prides itself on its inclusive corporate culture and it is representative in their values. Although can be bureaucratic at times, and salary can vary depending on the division.

Not much room for advancement.
Men paid more for the same positions.
Great group of people.
Local work.
Nice offices and good location in Calgary for the river and parks.
Far from public transport.

I enjoyed working there very much and my relationship with the leadership team. Left because moved to British Columbia, but would have stayed otherwise. Would go back in a heart beat. Was great.

It's such a sad story to see what has happened at IPL The culture has been obliterated. Employees are at the bottom of the priority list. Doesn’t look like Brookfield has a long term plan for IPL
