In the beginning it was great. Was hired as a hybrid position so the flexibility of the job was very good - which made up for the fact that they lowball compensation. They had good boundaries related to work-life balance, and they seemed open to career advancement. However, over the last year, they started implementing changes that showed a shift in culture and management style from upper leadership (directors and up). They changed to 100% in-office (with no warning, compensation change or grace period), getting promotions and raises became increasingly harder, and they also became extremely difficult when deciding to hire people to cover for other employees who left. Before I left, other 4 people had already quit (from my department alone) over the course of 6 months. Upper leadership denied requests from managers to hire new people, which made everyone’s job on the team way harder as we were all overworked, unhappy and underpaid. 

Employed for about 2 years now and not looking to leave. I suppose it will depend on the departments and on the position itself, but so far, I've had nothing but great experiences. I hold a position that communicates a lot with various departments. 

In the last 2 years, I have never been micromanaged as I am naturally someone who doesn't need to be chased to get things done. I like having that autonomy - and they provide it; if you demonstrate that you can be trusted to do your work and do it well. 

They:
-Highlight good and reliable employees
-Host various employee engagement events
-Offer opportunity for growth; I've seen countless people be promoted. 

-Offer great family benefits. 

If I had to list a CON - it would be that they don't offer remote work. But this is because they focus a lot on social interactions, establishing relationships with colleagues and clients.

I recommend them as an employer. 

-Perform administrative duties
-Minute taking
-Create research reports to determine attractive areas in Ontario for apartment acquisitions 
-Edit company reports before they go public  
-Ensure all company credit cards are paid on time and organize invoices
-Plan company trips and book flight/hotel

I have learned how to properly create a research report with reliable information.

Management taught me a lot about multi-tasking and working in a large company.

The coworkers are great and easy to work with.

The hardest part of the job is the pay scale.

The enjoy that my days are busy.

Loads to learn but no one to teach you - a great experience for a patient self-learner  
Diverse work tasks but also a lot of stress - almost every task is time sensitive and someone is always waiting for it to get done
Your routine very much depends on the department - some teams work overtime 10+ hours a week, some teams get to work from home 3 days a week
Overall, great atmosphere, I would just highly recommend getting to know your future teammates or colleagues first to make sure you are aware of the actual workflow in your specific team, as it very much depends on your teamlead and department

I have a great experience with the company, thanks to the supportive and inspiring management. They provided numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth, and at every step, I felt support from everyone around me. The company's culture is truly amazing, fostering a sense of belonging and care for each employee's success. They organize a wide range of events specifically for employees, creating a vibrant and engaging work environment. In general, I feel valued and appreciated.

If you are a certain type of person, this
Is the company for you. However, departments are very micromanaged. Additionally, there is little to no training provided. If they like you, you are fine. If they don’t, you won’t be working there long. 
Your ideas will only be heard if your boss can take credit for them. Similarly, any mistake your boss makes, (or a coworker that is a favorite) you will be held responsible for. 


Currently employed at this company as a summer student position and would love to return post-graduation. The work environment and culture are the best, and I have not been micromanaged at all. I have never worked at a company that values their employees as much as InterRent does. I absolutely recommend this company. 

Pay does not actually show what you should be getting. Working long long hours with little reward. Toxic employee culture with very little way to work your way up. Will only be considered for bonuses and promotions if you are in sales. 



Great place to work.

There is a wide variety of work and many items to learn.

The management appear to care and visit the buildings often.

Just like other property companies you will have to deal with tenants.

Nice people to work with! A typical day is helping people find an appartment suitable for them. Very easy. Management is the best I have worked for in a company. Thank you InterRent :)
