It's a good place to work, UNLESS by some stroke of bad luck you end up in the chicken dicing department. They are not equipped to handle the production so you will be manually bagging, weighing and packing over 6,000KG of chicken per shift and you will be doing this continuously. Each bag weighs approximately 10KG. No matter how fit you think you are you cannot do this comfortably for more than 3 to 4 hours. After a couple of hours you feel your body giving up, you feel dizzy, exhausted and down right miserable. By the end of the shift you will be severely drained both mentally and physically.

A typical day at work is fun at the same time challenging. I enhanced my administrative skills while working at InterCity Packers. The management was very approachable as well as very professional. There was no hard part of the job as we work as a team and the management was easy to deal with. The most enjoyable part was the different activities that the management conducted in order to strengthen the bond between the employees and and the top management.

Employees and management built the culture of mutual respect.

The most enjoyable was the reaching the solution to the problem and implementing it.

My typical day involved financial reporting, internal control, budgeting, leadership and project work with the goal of eliminating wasteful activities and increasing overall performance.

If you want to work in a place where management actually cares about you, isn't the place. Employees are disposable and treated poorly by management. Worked hundreds of shifts alone in the night unloading heavy freight and boxes by myself. Terrible pay too. The only plus side is that the discounts are decent

convenient work location. 
As the business is expanding, more hard wares and machines are put in place to meet the customer's needs. A lot to learn in terms of machine setup. pre-op check, formulating, etc.
The job is stable and permanent.

the culture has changed dramatically for the worse due to managerial changes. this needs to change. too many unhappy staff...good staff

They offered a decent wage and opportunity for advancement.  The benefits were good and the people I worked with daily made it easy to like it.  I should've taken the advancement opportunity.  Instead I went to school.  Great Company.
