Your 100% a number unless you mesh with the clicky group. That said, there was plenty of others in the same boots as you. Still, filled with toooons of high school drama type of stuff, yuck.

Management cares about about speed over quality. This is VERY big. 

Little to no respect your personal life. Many times ( not asked ) with almost no heads up,  to do work well outside of kamloops, with little compensation for my trouble. At times for an extended period of time. Personally, its better to work up north on rotation than to do this. Pays WAY better. 

You get very little help from your journeymen. They are busy plugging along with their own agenda.  Small job are fine, great sometimes, but are big big jobs, noooope. If your an apprentice, you'd think there would be some guidance or an opportunity to spent time to learn. 

BE advised, the WORST, and I mean the worst human I have ever worked along side in-my-entire-life is now an owner. The other one was a great on site manager, and lastly the MAIN  boss guy there is just ok ( see work/life comment/respect ). 

Overall, if your looking to do some work for a few years, you'll be fine, but unless  your meshing with the management I wouldn't think of it as a long term thing. You'll get good security as they are big, they get more work, usually. You work your 8 hours and that's it, and you don't have to worry about supplies, generally.

I moved from another company many years ago and as it was a difficult transition because it was a complete 180 best choice. I’ve been treated with respect- but also have given it. I’ve been successful- but I’ve worked for it. This is a family owned company, been around 75 years. They have a way of doing things and that’s what they want to keep being successful at what they do. It’s not a perfect business, no place is but do the work, be ready to work and respectful and you’ll get it back. Everyone is welcoming, there to help if you need. It’s a much better place than I have ever been at before. Look at the reviews on Google, unhappy staff are not going to give that good of service to customers. Reflection of how people are treated is shown in their work, and how the customer feels on the other side. 

Management on site is awful, constantly belittling people, talking behind their back. If you’re good at one task you’re stuck on it for pretty much the whole time, never giving you a chance to learn about other tasks. Tools that are provided are not always in great shape, managers refuse to spend money on good equipment. The only bonus of working at this site is that it’s 4, 10 hour shifts. Not paid or reimbursed for travel time. They treat their apprentices like dirt, giving them repetitive tasks or chores instead of building them up and letting them learn. Journeymen are often scolded unless they fit in with the clique, they are put on tasks that last pretty much the whole job. 

They talked up a big game about how good they are and how much future work they have, but when you get into the job site they are by far no better than the rest of the mediocre contractors in western Canada... Very unorganized, poor communication, low standards for working but high standards for completion. Not willing to take advice on how to organize thier jobsite or tasks. Saying they have a hard time getting employees but not willing to foster a workplace culture to keep good employees. Just after the all mighty dollar, try not to get hurt. They promise to supply tools and equipment, just to tell you they don't have enough when you get there.

An old boys club, never in my career have I ever dealt with a crew of people who belittle their coworkers every day.
They have a group chat where they put people down on. Call their workers all sorts of vulgar names. 
There’s a white board on site incase you say something dumb they write on it and shame you for months.
The management on the job site  is the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Repeatedly mistreating their workers under them. 
Want a job that you go to feeling like garbage everyday, that they promise job security and then hire new guys to replace you? Then this is the company for you. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not much at all. Men’s group and managers use the word “family” but they do not care one bit about there employees

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Terrible organizing and the worst management I have ever seen in 20 years. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Running around with you’re head cut off from poor management

Stressful and frustrating and constant finger pointing. Again, it’s a boys club

I've never had benefits better than those at IPH - they pay 100% of medical and health coverage for me and my family. Also just started an RRSP matching program. I really like the team at IPH - they are all nice and welcoming. Both co-workers and management. The company is really busy, sometimes it feels like there is too much work. The pay is good and they are flexible about vacation days and days off. I'm glad I found this job!

I would love to have more responsibilities and higher wage

Quality and safety are set high tools and materials are high quantity.

I wish I had been a man, so I would have been kept on with Interior Plumbing & Heating. It was by far the best, most positive and overall positive work experience I've ever had in my 40 plus years on this earth.  
 The staff, the work tools, the entire set up of the company and their employees was impressive and inviting.  
They have commercial,  residential,  industrial, etc positions.  I would move to Kamloops for IPH if they wanted me as a full time forever employee.

Working alone and not having to share my  tools with the plumbers

Having to change measurements due to bad framing

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Its all white people. A bit of a rascist boss. He needs to take a course

Too many trips up and down the stairs
