I think Interior Savings has a good heart, but retail banking is absolutely dying. I had 0 stress, but was absolutely brain dead for the year I worked there. There were days where I literally spent 5 hours on my phone to pass the time, and was begging for things to do. 

Upward mobility is extremely limited due to it being a union. If you have no finance experience (degrees don’t count for some reason) you have a year of being a casual. This isn’t guaranteed hours. Consists of going to a new branch every few weeks and then you can apply for a mentorship. Once you get a mentorship, you do that for a year with reduced pay, despite doing an identical job to your coworkers. 

Chaotic vacation system that is needlessly complicated. Worklife balance is amazing, but day to day is monotonous. Not enough foot traffic. Met some great people and worked at a welcoming branch during my mentorship.

Company needs to get with the times, or they will be left in the dust because they can’t keep anyone with ambition. Very 1970’s-esque with hiring.

Co workers were the only positive experience working in this prison. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
This company cares only about profits. Employees are disposable numbers. That’s it 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
What can you do for the company. Work extra unpaid hours. Make them profits. Live to work not work to live. That’s what this company expects. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Dictated to arrive early unpaid. Stay late unpaid. Act like a telemarketer.  Sell sell sell product. Lie to members to make more profits.  Have unreachable goals. Have people micro manage you

Awful management depending on location.  Job security is there however you will not move up in the company as it is a union.  Pay is average.  Colleagues were great, but I cant stress how awful the manager was.  I was taking courses outside of work to pursue a promotion/better job.  Would not facilitate exam times.  Brutal.  Recent banking system conversion had many people jumping ship.  Watched 3 long time employees at my branch all walk before I did.  Applyer BEWARE!

Interior Savings believes in supporting it's employees and helping them grow to be successful.  They have many opportunities for career advancement and offer mentorship programs.  I started as an entry level MSA with a great training program in a very supportive branch. Highly recommend this company not only for the team environment but because they are local and care about their communities.

This is the most positive work environment I've ever worked in. Management is very supportive to staff when feeling overwhelmed and will step in to help when needed. They back up the employees when dealing with difficult members. They also have a great understanding of the importance of having a good work/life balance. The pay is great and above average of the normal pay for this kind of position.

They should spend less on TV Commercials RE community focus and offer higher savings rates ( since they’re the lowest in the country) and compensate their employees better. 

Great work life balance, management does everything they can to help you succeed and will adapt your training to fit your learning needs. If I ever have a question everyone is willing to help. 

There is a lot to learn and the fast pace environment can make the job stressful at times but the fact I feel supported by my collegues and management makes it a lot easier to manage.

Did not have a good experience working here. Met awesome people of course. People who say there are no sales in banking are kidding themselves. The pressure to reach targets is insane, it really messes with your mental health. A lot of opportunity for advancement and training but no time to do it at work and all the training can only be accessed at work.

Your experience depends on the department you work. High staff turnover in the branches, poor scheduling due to lack of staffing. Highly stressful environment.

Interior Savings is changing, for the positive.  Newly hired CEO is bringing a fresh and different perspective on the business.  Work is challenging but fulfilling.
