Once I got into the run of the job I would get to work a little early and clock in, pre trip my truck and let it warm up.  Then sit in the drivers room reviewing paperwork and chatting with some of the friendliest (and helpful) bunch of guys I've had the pleasure of working with.

The work is pretty straight-forward and easy.  If you finish early you go help someone with a longer route; if your behind someone will always come to help you - everyone finishes at the same time more or less.

You really only deal with one guy on the phone and he knows pretty much everything, and is very nice and understanding.  As long as you don't lie to him he will treat you as an equal.

Most days are nice and your outside so its not bad, and the bins are rarely heavy.  If its extremely hot it can be a little hard, but just bring alot of water.  When it rains though the job is miserable, get a ultra light weight poncho and water proof boots.

You ALWAYS get paid for 10 hours even if you worked less.  Anything over 10 is OT.

A catch-22 is you work every stat but 1 or 2... you get all OT that day PLUS the stat pay, but your working so...

I worked there more than 10 + years ago ;..I cant remember, but it was fun, and you were kept busy recycling the materials from the curbside pickup in the day..they have a lot of machines too ..I heard they have a new sorter for the curbside recycling items, the blue bins; the materials come in by truckloads.

lots of back room decisions and bad policies with safety

no trust  management made every decision ,no accountabily  lack of resposibilties and

start with meeting then get assignment

 Good training, I have felt challenged and appreciated. The shift work allowed me to do activities with my growing children on a Tuesday afternoon that does not occur at a 9/5 job.  Overall recommend to work here.  
 You know what they say,  if you can not get along with the people at your current job, you will probably have trouble getting along with the people at your next job as well. 

Really great group of guys & gals in the wood processing area where I worked.  There is programs and training to help those that want the help.  Mgt was very intelligent, fair, strong communication, HSE oriented and walked the walk.  Everyone made time to help when they could and answered questions

Typical day started at 6:00am, and was go, go, go as soon as my run was completed I was done for the day. I had a couple maps that I could fit in one truck load and could complete those days usually by 12:30pm. I enjoyed driving and picking up recycling, I was responsible for 2 jobs and worked my hardest everyday, during plus 50 with the humidex and minus 50 with the windchill.

No personal growth. Management does not listen to suggestions for the reliability of integrity programs improvement. Workplace culture is not good for educated people. No rewards or any appreciation for whatever good work you do for the company.

Your day would include picking up recycling and throwing it into a hopper/recycling truck continuously for 3 hours then sitting down doing nothing for just over an hour, it's a great place for active people and oddly enough a great place for people with bad english to get employed

Nothing any other organization doesn't struggle with 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Health work life balance. Physio on site

Management and maintenance of process are terrible. Coworkers are good for the most part. It's a very obey or we will walk you to the gate Management style. They will not allow feedback or suggestions.
