An overall great experience that involved forming strong bonds with co-workers and managers. A typical day began at 9am and involved meeting and assisting customers in selecting produce and shipping it to their homes or delivering it to their vehicles. I learned key punctual skills as well as landscape and gardening skills. This involved taking measurements of produce and cutting it to a customers needs as well as learning about different types of soils and tree and communicating their specifications to customers. The hardest part of the job was the intense labor and heavy lifting from morning until night. The most enjoyable part was talking to customers during the holiday season and seeing the joy on peoples faces when I sold them something they liked.

Although the company goal is always to be on top of performance, they never pressure you!
Once they find you confident in your task performance, they literally make you part of INL family!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing  that I would aware of!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is very good and they're very friendly to all kinds of culture!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day is usually very smooth!

A typical day at work would require showing up 15–30 minutes early (unpaid), work until noon, get a half hour unpaid break, and go back to the morning meeting location (paid if you're the first one back, if you get stuck in traffic, all that time is unpaid too). During work, no attention is paid to safety, and all health concerns are met with the question of, "do you need to leave early?" If you're lucky, you get two 15-minute breaks.

I've been at Islington Nurseries for almost 3 years, working in their retail division, I absolutely love it. I spent my whole career working for a giant corporation and it's nice to feel valued. At Islington Nurseries you're treated as a person rather than a number.

Working conditions are great and ownership are always available/supportive. The job certainly keeps you busy, very little down time means the days just fly by.

I'd highly recommend this company.

I've been at Islington Nurseries for a number of years now and truthfully I've enjoyed it since the moment I arrived.

Having left a job with a giant corporation, it is nice to work in a place where you feel appreciated and not just a number on payroll.

The pay is fair, employees are treated well and there are lots of perks to working here.

Overall, making the change over to Islington Nurseries has been one of the best decisions of my life.

I understand that I've been a maintenance personnel for winter and have enjoyed all seasons.and is looking for a Machine Operator position non union for Winter and summer /  possible interlocking and becoming unionized after.

The owner of this company spends money on bandaid solutions rather than investing into this great location. Example, to avoid being taxed extra on the property, there is a single portable toilet instead of running water. 
Besides having to deal with the moods of the day, that flip hour-to-hour, the pay is horrendous. Without any benefits or union organization.

No overtime paid,does not matter how many hours you work. You will be expected to work at least 60 hours per week straight time.,fast paced environment. Usually paid time and a half after 44 hrs worked at most establishments,not the case at this company.if yo make 16 dollars per hour you can be expected to be paid just that for each hour worked.

I feel very comfortable at work because all my co workers are very kind and friendly. All of them are very helpful with one another. I learn so much everyday and i am vey happy i got the opportunity with work there. The supervisor and manager are very understanding of all their subordinates and  they try their best to be fair to all of us.

The management at this company was severly disorganized and the company was incredibly cheap in how they ran their facility. One manager would say one thing while his manager would say another. Various happenings of miscommunication which negatively affected customer and employee alike.
