I have never felt so unnecessary and untrusted in a job. 
I have plenty of experience and knowledge in bar work and after jumping through the numerous application /interview /trial shift hoops (its a bar job for gods sake) they seemed to be impressed. I was hired first out of a group of 4 final employees and immediately given the most shifts.
Not that I get paid for most of them.
I often find I have been clocked out early even after working until 4am on a close trying to meet their obsessive standard of clean. I often dont even leave work until way after all my chores have been done because managers are too busy looking at what you're doing when they should be handling their end-of-night responsibilities. 

I have never been introduced to the main manager and every time I see her in passing she makes no effort to speak to me. Almost verging on purposeful ignorance. 

All the staff relentlessly b*tch about each other. I can only assume they'll start doing it to me.

You are SO untrusted. When a customer buys me a drink I have to go find a manager (elusive as they are) who will confirm the customer agrees, sign the receipt, which can only be used that day and has to be given to a manager again to be claimed. 

Every member of staff can only use one till which I've found hugely impractical when you're trying to serve quickly.

I find i'm forever being penalized by the many 'team leaders' and 'shift leaders' for doing things 'wrong' when i've been told to do it by someone else.

One complaint i've found particularly common is that I am being taxed a huge chunk of my hard earned wages because (despite handing my p45 in on my first day) they still haven't sorted it.

Everyone I work with is either stuck up from the major power trip the years working there gives them or they're too scared to relax and have fun because we're constantly being watched on the cameras to ensure constant work.
 
The ONLY pro I cant think of is the large discount on food -but not drink.

Not only do they NOT MENTION all work is two weeks day-shift and two weeks night-shift alternating.

Not only is the pay barely above minimum wage for long unsociable hours... (They pay weekly but extrapolated out the pay over the year it is worse than McDonalds pay their workers).

Not only do the (Beaconsfield) management and (kitchen staff) management treat you like utterly disposable plebs.
They act nice at the induction but as soon as you are in and working their attitude is unveiled and they treat you very poorly.
Sickness is not tolerated at all, being one-minute late on the fingerprint keycode clocking in machine is not tolerated at all with pay docked.
Due to a management staff rota mistake I was left with one other staff member to clean up a filthy kitchen and expected to stay until 4:30 am when I had started at 7pm. The management did not give a **** and when I voiced concern at how we could not manage we were threatened with the sack if we did not stay.

An utterly boring and soul-destroying place to work at that breaks the law re: employee's necessary hours off between shifts.
Whatever your circumstances, please don't waste your time even considering this company.



On the plus side you do learn how utterly terrible Wetherspoon's food is.
Their ENTIRE menu (with the exception of steaks) is cooked in less than 5 minutes - (yes that meal you just paid £8 for is a 3-min microwave job) - all pre-cooked, microwaved from frozen.
The steaks they cheat with finishing them off in the grill-press if they cannot cook them on time.
It teaches you to avoid Wetherspoon's food on the high street.

£9.40 an hour and any meal or 2 small plates on shifts 5hours+, in my experience nearly everyone is under 25 so it’s a fun working environment and I go out with people from work a lot, hours range from early in the morning to midnight (ish) so really flexible for students particularly if you have college/uni in the day, I easily manage a 7 hour after. Slight con: if your on a close you can be out at 12am but it’s just dependent on when everything is done so expect to frequently be out past 12 am and as late as 1-2 on weekends. Also work hours can be inconvient as you find yourself doing alot of weekends there. At the end of the day it’s Wetherspoons so some customers are lovely and some will snap when you say you have one thing out of stock but you get used to it. Shifts can be chaotic or really quiet depending on the day, but weekend shifts always go past a lot quicker and you get out earlier on quiet shifts so there’s a good side to both. It’s not a mentally taxing job but can be physically tiring or when you have  problematic customers, although there’s a nice trick to simply cutting off a table until the rude/drunk member leaves. Also not too hesitant to bar people for more extreme aggression/language etc. Overall good way to make some money- I make just under a grand each month part time (while in full time education) so you can’t complain.

I worked in the kitchen and don’t get me wrong, some things are absolutely great for example, some of the management and other staff were very friendly and helped me with training. However, if you’re young the older managers will make you feel less then them. It’s Avery busy environment and of course they expect a lot from you. I had a manager when I wa training who didn’t allow me to honour my mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes but she was very patronising and spoke form to me like I’m dumb. The hours are a little weird so you say goodbye to your social life because they want you to be fully flexible to them. It can be very tiring and draining but you learn life skills and the staff are friendly and supportive if they’re also younger. 50% discount on breaks and 20% out of work so it’s not all bad.

Busy shifts with hardly any staff on, low pay, no guarantee of hours, no care put into the food. I asked for holidays but was ignored multiple times, bad management, terrible standards put into the kitchen and food. This job makes you feel no pride or satisfaction, even the managers and team leaders seemed miserable most of the time which wasn't good for motivation. I would not recommend working here, overall bad experience, I tried to stay another few months but it just didn't get any better so I had to go, most of the staff who started when I did have gone and I wasn't there very long. DO NOT WORK HERE!!!

I have worked in two locations, one in Scotland and one in England, both were terrible places to work.  Previous shifts would leave work for the next shift to do, kitchens were always messy, unorganised, no communication etc. 

I could go on and on.  the high turnover of staff means regular newcomers that need to adjust constantly which puts the whole kitchen under pressure. I was never trained just thrown into the fire so to speak which is irresponsible and dangerous.

Co-workers were generally good but teams don't get the chance to gel properly as a team due to high leavers.

It can be really hard work, especially Sat/Sun breakfasts etc but this makes the time go faster and enables you to learn new skills.

the people I worked with were lovely and I got along with all of them
there was some stress when staff would get things wrong but that's what learning is all about 
not everyone had experience with working behind a bar on the floor but we all helped each other and made sure we done the job right
The managers were great, I could trust them with anything I had to say, if I had a problem I knew I could rely on them to try and sort the problem out. 
I overall loved working there even though there was time that it got so busy and it was all go go go. but we pulled threw and made it a successful day.

My typical day at work involves the following tasks and responsibilities:
1. Conduct daily defect triage with project team and 3rd party supplier.
2. Run reports from HP Quality Centre and distribute to all project team members.
3. Review Test Plan and Test Approach document for on-going projects.
4. Determine test approaches for project i.e  risk-based approach.
5. Monitor test execution progress and assist in test execution when required
6. Distribute test progress report to all project stakeholders.
7. Review test data and ensure required test data is supplied to the testers.
8. Manage and maintain test environment.
9. Prioritize BAU and CI testing work stream.

You'll never be out of a job
Training program is top notch - once you hit management level
Work to life balance is downright rude with what the company expect. 
Salary is absolutely abysmal for why you put u with.  
Too much red tape makes seemingly simple jobs that much harder. 
Area managers always around telling you how bad you are and that they expect you have the best pub on the company via any means necessary without any help or support from the money pot of the 70million profit a year they make. 
Petty petty rules make work life harder

Shifts times were okay but occasionally given days I couldn't do which was hard to rearrange. There was always a team leader on shift to help deal with difficult customers and that helped, higher management were on the floor most of the time so wasnt seen much by bar staff. Team was okay but dont tell staff anything about you that could be used against you, like that you have no plans on your 1 day off because you will be called in to cover. Work was constant and was often asked to cover a close at 1-2 am when my shift ended at 10pm.
