What is the best part of working at the company?
Good pay, benefits, rrsp. Nice building.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You are a number. Colleagues might care about you, but management will throw you out the door over personal vendettas. Very busy, and little recognition for hard work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Engineers are best, any support staff are lessers. But they have good Christmas parties, give away turkeys for thanksgiving and have in office competitions. Could be okay if your on the right side of it all.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
As administration is was one thing after another.. you had to find where you fit, and fight for recognition. Unless you were part of the executive team and then you were okay to be more relaxed and your job was ‘secure’.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people are really nice as are the offices, and a great way to dip your toes into hybrid work. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It feels like everyone is in a silo sometimes, especially if you’re in a more supporting role versus being an actual architect or engineer. While there is cross-team collaboration I wish there was more emphasis on getting to know others outside of your team. (Or even on your team). 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I wasn’t there for long but pretty good overall, people did their best to be flexible and friendly despite deadlines 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sitting at my desk and working, if I was in office I would grab coffee with coworkers. Meetings sprinkled throughout the day most days.

Flexible work policies and remote work stipends make working here easy. They focus on being fun and inclusive. The only thing that is negative is that big decisions without transparency and only communicated after they are made. It sometimes seems that Management , Board and Committees  with hold knowledge and are selective on who they share it with. Senior management are accessible but middle management doesn't seem connected to their staff groups or are more engaged with one staff group over another. Could be a great place to work if all staff were engaged in business decisions.

The company come off as kind of a family, however you quickly realize that they care much more about the staff that have been there since the 80’s and 90’s. 
The pay is well below industry average but they tend to overhype “shares” in the company, end of year bonus and the annual JLR staff party, none of which are significant enough to pay bills. Shares in the company are expensive and increase at the same rate of an RRSP. 
Advancement is also difficult depending on which department you’re in. I knew of many people who had been in the same position for 10+ years and offered little-to-no advancement opportunities. 

No on boarding procedure dog eat dog environment. Beware the employment sign on letter has a termination clause, whereby they can let you go anytime (2 weeks pay, they keep your earned vacation pay, etc.) at any year of service (even with good peer review evaluation). No job security. If you buy shares and you are dismissed  (without cause) they keep the profit and takes them over a year to repay what you bought with a pay period.  They look out for their very senior staff (which is good) newer staff are expendable depending on their profits. 

Poor management that only cares about employees who have been there forever. 

Toxic environment - you never know if you're doing well, you never feel appreciated.

Below average salary - management doesn't care if their employees are living decent lives.

Lousy benefits - pay too much on a monthly basis for poor coverage and still pay 30% at time of purchase.

There is no improvement or support as they claim x beaware. No open discussion, no feedback  . Everybody is strangely disconnected and cautious don’t trust anyone  .they say what they don’t do .unfriendly Staff and poor management. Layed off in very disrespectful  way for unknown reasons . 

The job was challenging and rewarding and I was able to advance my skills in Autocad with unlimited resources and mentors. Unfortunately, I had to part ways with JLR for another opportunity, but I would recommend this employer to any of my friends and past classmates.
