Mostly good for a paycheque, and even then, a cheap one at that.. A lot of stress for a minimum wage job.  At the interview, I requested to be put in afternoon shift because I've never been a morning person, and requested to not start on the upcoming sunday because I had obligations at the other job I had at the time, which I thought were both reasonable requests.  I had to work day shift on that Sunday.  Clearly the interviewer wasn't listening or didn't care about my requests.  
Hard work is rarely valued.  A lot of the line leads and supervisors offer advancement opportunites to workers based on who their friends are, not who the most dedicated and hard working employees are.  Wanted to start earlier for more responsibilities, and didnt even get paid.  I was doing unpaid work for a supervisor that didnt care about me. Would not recommend.

Used to be fun going in to work (weird ikr) 
But the ppl are absolutely amazing, management on the other hand is a whole other thing.... they don't care about the people at all and are super disrespectful... oh and the Production Manager micro manages, so he basically gives the supervisors no say in anything at all and so if he doesn't like you... you're just gonna have a bad day every day. 
Seriously wouldn't recommend working here, absolute waste of gas and time

Mechanical department, Automation is worse management.

Production and rendering where the waste are coming and processed.

Full of politics, HR and account deployment is not helpful, benefits is not good, no sick leave. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No specific date, schedule is adjusted every week.

From start at $20/hour to eventually making $24/hour after working there 8 months was struggle to get by on, and it wasn't even based in Vancouver. The cost of living is ridiculous, and apparently they don't hire based journeyman status but experience. If you can't test weld a bead properly for $20/hr they would still hire you since they don't follow CWB regulations. The shop is nice, good welding equipment, and most tools are in desperate need of repair. Management  seem to struggle with keeping the shop busy in sales and projects.

Never again. This was the most toxic environment I've ever worked. 
In addition JBS claims top competitive wages on their site. How $14.28 is a competitive wage with other companies defies description. I'd rather go homeless than work in a toxic environment for literally few cents above minimum wage. 
This company is ALL about profit before people. 
This company's primary objective and states so right in the cafeteria: Profitability for our Shareholders. 

I work in meat processing in round chain as a seam round. This job is very work hard. I'm not enjoying anymore because sometimes we're not allowing go in washroom. The management are very strict sometimes the supervisor are they yelling. We cut a per shift of 2,150 head of cattle. The line is very fast that's why we can't rest. They don't adding a people every line. I'm not happy anymore. And my body i feeling weak. I want to seek another job of comfortable and i'm enjoying.

Its really hard to work everyday in jbs becouse of fast prodoction,I learned a lot for jbs how to communicate to  others and how to be safe to your work, the management its really good they gave to you the satisfaction that you need,ask I jbs worker the culture are very nice they have a lot of event in jbs,the hardest part of my jod is that I can do work in defferent job in jbs not only ask a saw operetor,wen I alwasy do perfect my job and gohome with safe,

Computer work filing, answering the phones for all 10 sales associates. Some order entry for beef.  
I learned different navigational areas of the computer.
Management was engaged with staff. 
Coworkers were pleasant and helpful.
Hardest part was leaving - Laid off 
Most enjoyable part was learning something different as retail, that is what I have done for 26 years. It was exciting..

good management - I know how it is hard to manage budget and keep production running, but we are doing it and were recognized a few times for good and safe work, give me opportunity to keep doing rebuilds and learn new equipment.

Good experience working as QA HACCP regulatory and solving problems with HACCP application on production and Canadian regulations of CFIA, Management crew at QA HACCP focused on keeping their own jobs.
