This was, without question, the most challenging and disappointing workplace experience of my career. The size of the production facility may give the impression of a well-managed organization, but my time in the accounting department revealed otherwise.
The department consisted of two clerks, one cost accountant, one senior accountant, one assistant controller, one controller, a senior accountant who effectively operated as a second controller, and a CFO. In practice, this meant four employees were reporting to what amounted to four layers of management — a ratio that created a stifling, micromanaged environment.
The longer you stay, the more apparent it becomes that tenure and personal relationships with ownership carry far more weight than merit. There is a significant disparity in the standards applied to newer hires versus those with longstanding ties to the ownership group. As someone without those connections, the expectations placed on me were noticeably higher, with little grace extended during the learning curve. Training, development, and execution were all expected to happen simultaneously, with minimal support.
Much of the management team, frankly, lacks the competence to lead effectively — but they remain in their roles because the company struggles to attract anyone better, and the consequences of that trickle down to every employee beneath them. To their credit, the company does manufacture what appear to be innovative products, and they generate enough business to sustain operations. But that commercial success masks a deeply dysfunctional corporate culture. Do not mistake a profitable business for a healthy workplace — and do not let yourself get stuck in this environment believing things will improve. They will not.
The culture around personal autonomy was equally rigid — phone use was prohibited entirely, and the expectation was that your eyes remain fixed on your screen for the full eight-hour workday. Taking a proper lunch break was subtly discouraged; the unspoken norm was for everyone to eat at their cubicle and continue working. There was no real separation between work time and personal time during the day.
To add to this, employee parking is located roughly a 10 to 15-minute walk from the office building, yet you are required to clock in and out at the office itself. This effectively adds 30 to 40 minutes of unpaid time to your workday — time that is neither acknowledged nor compensated.
Middle management in particular came across as unapproachable and difficult to work with on a human level.
Whatever your circumstances may be, I would strongly encourage prospective candidates to weigh this decision carefully before accepting an offer here. The demands far outweigh the rewards. It is also worth noting that, by all accounts, a recently hired controller resigned within a month after experiencing the workplace culture firsthand.

If you want to learn the steel trade this is a good place to start. You'll do an equal amount of fitting and welding, and a lot of cleaning off of spatter. 

if you are currently making in the 30s and have 5+ years in the trade stay away there are a lot better options out there. The pay here is 4-6 bucks /hr below what you could get elsewhere. Top rate is 34, and no new hire gets that even if you are a superstar. The vast majority of guys here make 20-28 bucks an hour. They have hired people at 15/hr in the past for welding positions. 2005 wages. 

There's a lot of work but its all the same work more or less. Some denomination of a box. You'll see everything you'll probably wanna see in under a year. Some oddball projects here and there, but only a few select guys get those jobs. 

The shop is spectacular, a real monument to the success of the company. Lots of cranes and forklifts. Tons of brand new top of the line miller welders. All the clamps in the world. Plenty of tools and they are well maintained. Lunchroom is huge, you get your own locker. 3 Fridges, 6 microwaves. Fairly decent amount of parking. They hand out some decent swag around christmas time. 

It's not a bad place to work honestly, but if you are chasing paper this isn't it. This also isn't it if you are well skilled already and trying to take your skills to the next level. If you are a hustler you won't be rewarded for it either in most cases. They like slow and steady here. 2 hours is the same as 10 hours of work as long as it is correct. They love to talk about the core values and ideals, want everyone to invest in the company on a personal level, tattoo JBS on their arm... Ok the tattoo part was a bit much but you get the idea. It's all very corporate.

Of all the places I have worked none have compared to JBS. The company is always moving forward and business doesn't seem to be slowing down. The work can be challenging at times due to how busy business is but it makes for an exciting and fast paced place to work. The growth and expansion since I have started is unbelievable and it's really nice to be part of it and management is always making sure that we feel like we are part of the success and growth. 
I really like how understanding and flexible the company is being that I have children and when something comes up they are supportive and always willing to do what they can to make sure everything works out.
This is also the only place I have ever heard of that holds employee reviews to go over performance and areas for improvement and to point out the positive the work being done. Most places you need to be beg for a review or they make you feel awkward for asking but JBS is willing to pay and promote your value and make you feel good about your contribution. 
I would recommend JBS to anyone who likes working, who enjoys a challenge and knows they have the ability to move forward in their job and be rewarded accordingly. I would especially recommend this place to anyone who takes pride in what they do and wants to be part of something continuously growing and big!



I will keep this short and sweet so it’s clearly understood for anyone looking to apply at JBS. 

JBS Equipment is the most disorganized, stressful, hypocritical and unhealthy place to trade your time for money. Their upper management is an absolute disgrace to working people. They’ve changed management roles in the last couple years and has sent the company spiraling downhill . The new management is probably the most inexperienced, arrogant moral killer I’ve ever seen in all my years of being employed. 

The company is a stress factory that disgards,disregards and sheds people like their are garbage. I’ve never seen so much turnover in my life. Either your going to quit shortly after working there, or you will be fired for reasons you don’t understand. If you do manage to cling onto life in that place for any period of time, you’ll wish you hadn’t. 

When you have poor leadership that simply doesn’t  care, or is the inexperienced on how to create a work culture, JBS is the result of what you get. 

Please keep looking and stay away. 




I quit during my first shift and I will elaborate as to why. Firstly management team seemed like great people. I did like the environment coworkers etc. However I wasn't impressed by how they run their assembly it was very primitive. Definitely not the most efficient way to produce their products. This is the big issue they require a huge tool list with no tool allowance. So they put some of their cists of production onto their employees. There are few things an employee should have for their trade, but this was way extensive. Not something I have ever encountered before. Because of how their production is set up you do actually need all of these tools. I think of it wasn't fir this one major issue they would be a phenomenal employer. To increase their productivity and remove stress or workload off of their employees they need to re-examine pisitions and create departments

JBS Equipment is a great place to join if you are looking to hone your skills and get better in your career. They give you every opportunity to get into higher roles and learn new things. If you put in the time here and you are good at what you do you will be promoted in no time. You are going to learn everything you might need to know when it comes to manufacturing and then some. I thought that the wages that they offered are fair in the market and they are always willing to have a conversation around wage if you can prove what you bring to the table you don't have to wait for your yearly reviews.

You need to be willing to work hard here and you will do well but if you are looking for a work place where you can sit around the coffee pot and talk about your weekend it might not be a good fit for you.

Their systems and programs may need some revamping but they make it work without an ERP system. 

I would suggest that you give it a go if you like a fast paced environment that brings a new and interesting challenges.

I've been a long time employee of JBS and I feel they deserve a fair review here. I started as a fabricator/welder back in 2010. JBS has always provided a safe work environment and always challenged me. They've grown so much in the time that I've worked there and now have build a beautiful shop to work out of. 

JBS is constantly creating and innovation new products and striving to build the best in the market. Their core values will push everyone to do the best they can. Hard work will pay off at this company, if you need to take a day to deal with personal things, they will work with you. 

This is by no means a dead end place to work. I have watched young people start working afternoons and weekends while in school move their way up the chain to be successful employees. 

JBS Equipment has been a wonderful place to work. Yes, it can be fast paced and challenging at times but the satisfaction of completing a difficult task makes up for it. Everyone is very supportive and if you're willing to learn, they're willing to teach you. If you show interest and work hard, the sky is really the limit. Everybody is willing to take accountability for their work and lend a helping hand if needed. It really feels like a team. Compensation has been brought up in a couple of other reviews and I have found that JBS compensates fairly for the work that is being done and is in line with similar positions that I've seen on Indeed. 

I am extremely satisfied with my experience at JBS Equipment. I have had the privilege of being a part of a dynamic and supportive team that values collaboration and innovation. The company's commitment to excellence is evident in its state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge manufacturing processes.  The positive work environment, transparent communication, and recognition for hard work have truly made me feel valued and motivated. Very stressful environment created by management and the owner. The management is not experienced enough to run such a fast growing company, they will not listen to an advice from lower level even when it makes sense to do so. I've never seen so much turnover in my entire career (over 20 years). Its a toxic place where you will be fired for just not being liked by one of the "oldies" that still work there because they can't manage to get job anywhere else. 

just don't do it. no amount of money is worth this work environment.
