The job is on call 24/7 while on shift. You are expected to go to work at anytime, whether you have slept or not. Very unsafe and unhealthy lifestyle.
The pay used to be decent as they also paid overtime and bonuses. Bonuses were taken away, and wages were cut/overtime taken away "due to covid", meanwhile they continued buying new equipment and making the same profit as years before.
 It is very common practice that if you get injured on the job, and go through workers comp.. they will starve you out as soon as you are cleared for work.
Favoritism is strong at this company, if you say no to one job because you are tired or any other reason, you will be sat with no pay to punish you. 
The same few drivers are always chosen first, and dispatch has no problem lying when they switch your jobs around and give the good jobs to their favorites.
If they bid a job at a certain number of hours, and it takes you longer due to delays or any reason.. you will not be paid for the extra hours.
Management does not care about their employees.
Although you will sacrifice your health and well being for this job, you will receive no recognition and they won't think twice about throwing you to the curb at their earliest convenience.

I worked at JDA roughly 1 year ago and I would still be there if I didn’t have to move for family reasons. Dispatchers were really friendly and always willing to work with employees if they need time off for an appointment or any other reason. The equipment they run is top notch and the shop foremen will go above and beyond to make sure your equipment is ready to go when needed. They have a 21 and 3 but dispatch is willing to work with you if you need an extra day and in the summer they went to 18 and 6 so I could have family time in the summer. The pay was very fair and upper management was friendly and willing to help you anytime they could. If you chose to work at JDA I promise you won’t regret it 

Its a great environment, always on the go and on call based work. Schedule for me was 21 days on and 3 days off. You can book time off if need be. You do have to work alone and independently. Have scheduled pre trips and logbooks/invoices all up to date. Have some customer service with the people you interact with on a daily basis. And also be quick, efficient, and on time! Loved working at JDA but they ended up laying me off and hiring another girl the same day. Was there for about 1.5 years but unfortunately let go. Really wonderful people to work with, although a lot of favouritism it seemed within the company. Very family based though and loved it while I did work there. But moving onto bigger and better things.

Like most jobs, started out great with big potential and enthusiasm. But further you go, the more you see the downfalls. Lots of favouritism and incompetence in management. Egos run wild here, and if you’re not in the clique, it’s made very clear. Managers are in their position because of who they are friends with, not cause of their work ethic or knowledge. Dispatch is so unorganized and constant issues with tickets and your pay. You get sat or given weak loads if you speak up against improper procedures. Lots of drama and backstabbing in the office. Owners and CEO have a dark side, but it’s ok because they look good to the public. Great equipment, some awesome coworkers and mechanics are pretty good. Just lots of unnecessary stress. 

Working at JDA has been an incredible experience that has provided me with numerous opportunities for both personal and professional growth. The company genuinely cares about its employees and goes above and beyond to foster a supportive and positive work environment. I have been given the chance to take on new challenges and advance within the company, which has helped me build valuable skills and confidence in my career. JDA truly invests in its employees' development, and it's clear that they value every individual's contribution. I'm proud to be a part of this team and look forward to continued growth here!

I arrived to Jda with some driving experience, but 0 experience in the oil patch, and had never chained down a load in my life. 
Over the next couple years was able to grow my skills and move up (Oversize/wheelers etc)
My experience is that a willingness to go to work and go the extra mile is rewarded with further opportunity to progress. As such I would say Jda is a good place to develop your skills. 

When it was finally time to try something else and move on I was treated with respect and they worked me till my notice was over.

Some great people, some not so much. Big egos walk around in there. Either fit in or you won't last. Management constantly lies and doesn't care 1 ounce about the effort you put in. Lots of work especially for Shell. Actually almost exclusively to shell. You will work long and tiring hours which is good but absolutely no home life. Days off are hard to come by. You will not be allowed time off from January to March. Spring break up can be slow too. They pay decently but not worth the backstabbing in my opinion. Work there by your own admissions. The bonus structure is nice. It's works out to about $2,000 ever six months but they will definitely promise more.

Dispatchers push drivers to work extremely long hours and lie on logbooks to make it work.  If you don't take a job because you are already over your hours or too tired, they will sit you for a week to punish you.  Right to refuse unsafe work does not apply here.  Tons of favoritism.  
Expect to have no work/life balance and not good enough pay to justify it.  Safety is preached as soon as there's an incident, but there's no concern for safety the rest of the time while drivers are running on no sleep for days on end.

Very poor work environment lots of junk loads unless you are in the clicky circle. Lots of favouritism. Good place to learn if fresh out of driving school then move onto a better place . Have many years of experience but could absolutely not stand the lies and difficulties getting equipment repaired . Company has  revolving door not a lot of people stick around 

Hours Definitely varied and the work was there when needed.

Helped a green guy out get his feet wet with some experience.

Everyone worked together.

Hardest part was the hours.

Most enjoyable part was definitely the drives back and forth dropping off equiptment to new locations and cities.
