My job is one of the best jobs i've ever had. Ever since I've worked for Jersey City I've always felt welcome by my manager and by fellow staff members.
When I started working for my company I knew little about sports but my manager took the time to teach me the most important things about sports that customers would ask for, and my passion began there.
A few months after working for Jersey City the store was bought out by a company called Lids. I was immediately promoted to Third Key Holder, which is basically a supervisory role. My love for the store grew stronger and I was soon promoted to assistant manager where I was able to help run the store and be able to promote sales and customer service.
With my new manager, and myself, our store has been in the top five of our district and the company almost every week. My manager and myself always strive to bring up our sales every day, and we strive to crush our budget. By doing this, we do lots of things with our staff like competitions where they can win a prize if their customer service succeeds other staff members. 
Not only is it wonderful to know that I am helping to contribute to the boost of our sales, but its also a great accomplishment to have managers from other stores in my districts ask me what I am doing that is making our sales go through the roof.
My daily routine is calculating sales from the day before, current week, and current month to send to head office every month. I also receive emails and send them out. Along with that, I send store to store transfers and I always take care of our monthly and daily paperwork.

Throughout the day the staff and myself would reorganize product, and ensure it was all properly sized. Cleaning was part of our daily duties; sweeping, mopping the floor, dusting, cleaning the mirrors and display cases, which would be done two-three times a day.

I learned how to handle customers within the retail business whenever there was issues with product, money issues, return policies, or misplaced items. I also learned how to properly handle theft, what to do, who to call, and how to react.
My co-workers were quick learners, if I didn't know something due to communication errors, they would help ensure that the customer knew what was going on, then filled me in on what I missed out on. Cheerful, enjoyed helping customers, and made the work day a more relaxing, fun environment.

Schedule would be re-done almost every second day, with little to no warning. Advancement wasn't an option unless you were friends with the manager/DM.

The other associates working here were extremely nice however, and the sports community is excellent.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It was the worst work environment before new management took over. It was not a good atmosphere and I hated it and the boss was not organized and yelled at employees for there mistakes 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management team and how it was run

Learned more about sports and the different teams in different leagues. Great people to work with. Very good manager at the time. Lots of customers with high interest/energy to purchase fan based sport goods. Good hours for students.

This company was the most fulfilling and amazing career I ever could say I had the pleasure of working for. Running theie Online warehouse and websites was a highlight in my life. Would still work for them if they had not been purchased from an American company.

the company needs to be run better it rarely visited many things are stolen and isnt run the best, the distric manger doesnt know what he is doing and the people at head office dont know what to send in for inventory they send in randoms items that nobody wants

At Jersey City, we handled quite a lot of customers and helped find them sports apparel ideal for them. We folded a lot of shirts, did embroidery and handled shipping to other stores.

I enjoyed my time working there and the crew I worked with. Was a happy environment and a great learning experience. The hardest part of the job placing the orders  but it got easier with time.

every day we would maintain store, build relationships with customers.The staff would communicate very well. I dont ever remember it being hard in anyway. I enjoyed the people I worked with and the people I met.
