If I were to work to come back in another life I want to be a JF VP or executive. There are policies on how the staff should be grocery shopping to fill the executive kitchen, policies on how their travel should be booked along with each executives favourite seat. Anyone ever seen Mad Men and giggle at Joan stalking the office ensuring that all the staff acts accordingly or how Don Draper treats his secretary with all the rediculous  requests? JF fabric models themselves after that. 

Don’t even get me started on how cool the ideal of a mostly female  team and women empowerment. From the outside it seems like this would be the case but unfortunately it is not- some female only departments have a couple staffers that like to cut you down, do back handed compliments and should you be smart enough to not play their game and rise above they try harder and complain to anyone who will listen therefore alienating you from others. 

As to the point of another review they run a skeletal staff, customer service is worked to the bone, they expect people to be able to cover in all departments hat a drop of at regardless of the jobs you may need to complete that day. They close annually at Christmas- hours need to be made up the following year and cannot be made up by coming in early or stayingn late sometimes- these hours have to be approved by the supervisors and usually involve things that are out i the scope of your everyday work and involve you coming weekends. Please note they close anyways! 

Most good reviews were asked to be written by the staff who during working hours.

A typical day includes creative problem solving, sample book placement and relationship development and management. I have learned a lot about how bigger business operates and how to work in a B2B environment. Management, I have found, is supportive and encouraging. They are teachers and mentors and are rooting for your success. The customer service team and the sales admin team are committed and do the very best they can with what they have in the moment which is something that, as a sales rep, I appreciate. I have felt supported and appreciated in both my learning, my mistakes and in dealing with customer issues. The hardest part of the job is finding space to store the sample books and getting customers to call you back...as is the case in all sales roles. The most enjoyable part is growing your business and interacting with the customers. Overall they are great people. I like that this business is family owned and operated. The product is beautiful and training I received was excellent.

ENTITLED MANAGEMENT TEAM. 

Management dines while the rest starve, literally and figuratively. I could go on….let’s just say there is a very apparent social economical divide between the owners and the minions, I mean staff.

Archaic filing and reporting systems. Data Management system is a joke. Work environment is toxic. 

They pride themselves on never having to cut jobs in hard times but don’t mention that they run a skeleton staff and everyone is worked to the bone! For example, office staff is pressured to work on select weekends to clean up warehouse inventory in return for time off over the holidays when the company chooses to shut down anyway.

Management is cold and employee turnaround is high. Lifers are there because they haven’t experienced any other work environment to know how terrible this one is.

JF Fabrics has evolved over the past years and continues to bring out the best in its employees. There is continual communication between all departments and staff, working to streamline processes and explore efficiencies from all sides. Promotion from within as well as opportunity to transfer to another department do exist. All staff, Executives on down, are approachable and supportive, giving guidance and feedback to staff to resolve whatever issue they currently are working on. Being detail oriented, curious as well as personable and helpful are key characteristics of a JF team member. 

My territory included all of NY, except NYC and ares; All of Pennsylvania, and Northern Delaware. Typical day - on the road visiting customers. Learned a great deal about the fabric industry.

Best part of the job is the customers, and becoming a favorite resource for them. 
Hardest part of the job - getting to see customers often enough in a territory that was extremely too large; and obtaining a resolution of a customer issue. 

Management - very top-heavy, very heavy-handed.

JF Fabrics is a great place to work.
The daily routine always changes as new things needs to be completed in the design studio. The hardest part of the job is making sure that the customers are getting the correct information when the fabric books are completed. The co-workers are all friendly and great to work with, same goes with the companies upper management and owners.

If you want to advance in this company you won’t  unless you drink the kool aid. Upper management are pretentious mean girls except for one. They close for Christmas and make you pay back the time after hours and on weekends. 

love working here.  never had any issues.  managers were great. co workers were friendly. lots of office events.  Never felt overwhelmed by my work load and learning new stuff everyday 

Not accommodating, unrealistic, everyone likes to blame other people for their mistakes, unethical, managers literally bully other workers verbally in front of other people

Great team of people. Great office environment.
Fast paced professional environment.
