Pros - Flexible work hours (they sometimes let people work oversea on different time zone), in general the people you work with are very nice, and they have a really nice coffee machine, if you are a self learner and want a challenge it is a great place since you get thrown into the deep end often with no life preserver (lots of exposure to all sorts of projects and responsibilities but little supports).

Cons - Work is high pressure and high demand due to poor upper management decisions (poorly estimated budgets and hours and unreasonable promises to clients), way too much OT (some people may like this), upper management is not accountable for their actions, wage is below average (progression in wage is abysmal - some people can go as long as 5 years without a raise, it took me 3 years before I saw any raises, not even a 2% raise for inflation), your hard work is often not recognized and they will take advantage of you instead of helping you (almost no support), a lot of self learning for EITs and intermediate engineers (no mentorship since everyone is so busy and they’re expected to have 100% billable hours almost all the time, sometimes they’ll try to pressure you to stamp drawings even if you’re not comfortable with it, they canceled the Christmas party, the office is not very nice (no windows and in a bad location of town).

Provide drafting and design work for various Civil/Structural Engineering projects from initial work requests to final issued for construction drawings.  I work in the clients office environment and use their standards and specifications and participate in their corporate meetings and events.  Work with a great group of professional engineers and technologists in a friendly casual environment.  The clients management is great, where I work directly under their supervision, which they have a open door policy with regards to communication and always makes me feel apart of the team even though I am a consultant.  The hardest part of the job is stressing about having enough hours in order to fill a 40 hour work week, since lately I have been receiving limited budgets while maintaining the quality of work.  The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing my designs fabricated, installed and used by others in order to make their job safer, more efficient and reduced costs during shutdowns which provides added value to the company.  I have learned a great deal of knowledge, gained experience and acquired various skills which has made me a more productive and efficient worker.

Work days included Cost meetings, Schedule Reviews, Materials delivery updates, QA/QC reviews.
Learned new computer skills.
Great Team Spirit.
Inclusive when opinions were asked for.
Respectful for input provided
Provided 'change management' input when verification was required.
Hardest part was satisfying the client when they knew more than they shared.

It was a good company I supposed, PM cut hours to win a project and squeeze out designers and engineers to work extra hard to meet schedule, most engineers are jrs.. or EIT's.. Sr. guys leaves quickly once they learn how stressful life is.. management treatment is fairly good.. but work itself has no ownership for designers or engineer so they can easily send you home.. and transfer the work to the people near " the kitchen"

Company pay lower than market. Benefits are average but cost of benefits is high. There was no salary growth for 3 years and even performance reviews were excellent. Some folks are very bad to work with and their language is unprofessional but are protected by top management as they are working for long time. 

You can learn alot here, however they have no loyalty when it comes to lay offs, they will hire for big jobs with no effort to keep you after it is finished. Fast work and borderline unsafe design conditions makes this place an employer to avoid.

Well managed firm. Lots of room to grow and advance. They will give you as much responsibility as you take on. A very collaborative workplace - everyone is willing to help you to suceed.

Though not the fanciest of offices or locations, working for JNE was a wonderful experience.  They are homely and make you feel valued.  They are very understanding if you need to take time off too.  The owners are also such wonderful people as well.
