I had a damaging employment term with Jump+ the entire time I was working there I thought that the issues stemmed from me and that I should take responsibility for my own Work/Life Balance. 

This quickly turned to be impossible as my availability was disrespected. I was not given adequate training, and was expected to stay past my scheduled shifts if it would at all benefit the company. After a year and a half of trying to be a good employee and work well with the corporation, I finally decided to start pushing back and fully demanding my needs and rights. I informed management that I would not be attending any opening shifts that followed a night where I was closing the store. I feel this is more than reasonable, seeing as I would certainly not be able to have adequate rest and time to perform self care in between a schedule like this. Being scheduled that way had lead to issues in my relationship with my spouse. It was causing me to not shower or bath regularly and I was suffering from chronic lack of sleep as well. To top it off, due to me having no time to cook and eat as well as sleep in between the shifts I was scheduled, I developed an eating disorder that I still struggle with today. I’m no longer able to eat large portions and I have absolutely no motivation to make meals because of the habits I developed to survive over that time frame.

After I had asked for this accommodation Management reached out to tell me “scheduled shifts are mandatory, and we cannot guarantee that you won’t me scheduled to open after closing the previous night, but we will take into consideration that this is not YOUR PREFERENCE” I was absolutely livid at this response, and the next week I had another shift scheduled to open after closing. At that point I began to handle things through the assistant manager. She would switch shifts for me if they were scheduled unfairly, and was great at discussing my issues with the district manager. She was fired shortly however(within a few months of being promoted) and overall I was left with no support from the person they hired to replace her as we did not have any working relationship. 

I feel as though this issue is so small, and it certainly only scratches the surface of what’s happening in that place, but I seriously think Jump+ should be shut down. The owners do not deserve to profit off of the labour of employees that they do not respect. Your employees are not tools for you to replace and use as you wish. We are living breathing people trying to make a living, just like everyone else. 

Don’t ever make the mistake of working here, you will be used, and abused until you are nothing of what you used to be. This place has sucked the life out of so many people, and I really pray it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I seriously felt nothing but relief after being let go myself. 

It asks of you more than the benefits. 
pros : Being around new tech all day can be interesting 
- Staff is usually friendly
- Discount of 3rd party accessories can be good for employees.
- Management has improved in some ways - some things are better.

Cons :
- short breaks or no breaks when busy.
- Management doesn't have your back 
- Very dusty & unclean in various areas. It is not done every day, management doesn't enforce it.
- Will send you home early if it's not busy even if its hours before the end of your shift.
- Hour cuts - they will fire whomever they want when this happens
- Lack of stock on key selling items. There was a full month with no iPhones to sell at a certain period...
- Lack of honesty by management
- Crazy customers screaming at you (no ones fault but still a con)
- Lack of amenities for the employees in the back.
- The multiple systems you need to learn are often unreliable
- Training is a bit excessive - and paid minimum salary for that period even though you are working and selling. ( active learning with seed is fine ) 
- Paid commission takes too long to get. 
- Reaching out to HR takes forever. They don't that any situation you say seriously. It shouldn't take 1-2 weeks to be able to talk to HR about a problem. 
- Don't get 2+ jobs if you work here. They're too strict with scheduling or change it whenever they want. 
- The lack of french keyboard laptops of all types. We're in a 50/50 English/french location. But a few french keyboard MacBook airs, pros 13, pros 15. How many lost sales happened because of that. over 30 from my count. Ordering them? Nope, takes weeks to receive. 
- Reviews from mac techs & sales are much different. They don't have very much of techs so they treat them better (in some ways yeah) - that's one of the reasons for the high turnover rate of sales associates. 

I don't recommend working here, unfortunately. Job security is nonexistent. Why? Because either you are super stable or very unstable. Who's to say which side you'll land on? Don't take the gamble. 

Worked in every area in the store, had some good moments, but ultimately a mark of a good company is how you feel on the way out. That shows a lot about the culture. 
A lack of empathy. 
Don't just say WE care. Show it. 

No BS we care answer, please - and that you'll take it into consideration.Or sorry i feel that way. Everything i stated was true. It needs no explanation. 

 I don't hate the company, i just strongly advise against working there. At the store level. Higher management i have no idea.

The store I worked at was a complete joke. They overstaffed the store and then only have hours to people they liked. The manager was extremely underqualified, often being shown up by new hires including myself. He put more effort into getting google reviews then selling big-ticket products. He would even threaten to dock pay and commission for not getting enough google reviews. On top of threatening things he couldn't do, he had a habit of giving away heavily discounted products (like 10-20% below margin) to anyone who spoke his language. He would also make staff under 18 do phone activations and financing often giving away an assistant managers account info. That would carry over to the opening and closing the store, which he would miss more often than not, and then just have a clueless new hire use his security info. More often then not, new hires would get fired within 2 months of starting and he would only keep around friends. On more than one occasion he could be found talking to his friends in the back, standing outside on the phone, publicly yelling at staff and hitting on one of the females working there. After firing me he then fired one of the friends I worked with because he had gotten in trouble and blamed him. Overall it was more a soap opera than a job. The only thing I will give them is there are plenty of opportunities to improve if your manager lets you, like mystery shop and promos. The head office was very nice people, however like I said, my manager would gatekeep and fire anyone he felt was guilty of reporting him. This was one of my first jobs so the pay was fine for me, however, I will say that the commission scheme was poorly planned. You cant earn commission until you're done training but even if you finish everything fast, you still have to wait until your 3 months are over. I personally finished all my training in the first week and the manager said he couldn't sign for at least another 3 months. I'm not sure if that is normal but if it is it needs to be fixed because in the following months I was one of the top sales reps yet got nothing for it.

Jump plus is by a country mile the worst company I have ever worked for, and I’ve worked for Walmart and Rogers so this is really saying something.
If you are expecting internal growth, this is not the job for you. 
If you are expecting a fair, livable wage and full time hours, this is not the job for you.
If you are expecting to have your mental health taken seriously, and be treated with respect and integrity, this is not the job for you. 
Belinda and Joe I certainly hope you’re reading this, and hopefully this will teach you some humility (assuming you’re receptive to feedback, which is doubtful)
My experience at jump plus when being hired was very positive at first, and very quickly shifted into the negative and never left it. My major grievance is the lack of internal growth. When you decided to not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES hire externally for positions that people in the store were eligible for, and deserved, I absolutely lost faith in the company. I completely understand picking the right person for the job but it is PARAMOUNT that you allow your current employees a shot at the position. You chose to hire an external store manager who had LITERALLY NEVER WORKED RETAIL over multiple people in your store that had the experience, I want you to understand that was an absolute slap in the face to every single one of your employees in the Kingston location. To not even be given the chance to interview for the position, to just come into work and have a brand new store manager which no one in the store being looked at or offered it beyond insulting and my experience at jump plus is absolutely soured because of it.
My leadership skills could not be property utilized because of the amount of micromanagement.
The commission structure is an absolute joke. 
The blatant mistreatment of employees in this company is overwhelming and I hope you learn and grow from reading this because you will not last another 5 years on the market continuing down the road you’re going now. 
I am not thankful for my opportunity to work for this company, I feel cheated, unappreciated and I would go so far as to say emotionally abused.

Out of the three owners that run the company, there is only one who knows how each store operates day-to-day, and who can relate to struggles store-to-store, as he is the only owner that cares enough to even visit other stores to begin with.

At Jump+, you can expect little to no job security as you watch many people in the company be let go every month for the most asinine of reasons.  Got a full time sales job?  Great, watch as they pull 15 hours of your pay every week because they suddenly decided to expand the company faster than they should have.  On top of that, you're now working a performance based job, and now make less than a frycook at McDonalds (with an abundance of additional stress and pressure to even keep your position).

I rated Management 1 star not for the management of my store, but for two of the Owners.  My own store Manager puts a 11/10 effort in to keep our location doing as best it can given the extreme financial limitations, and bizarre expectations set in place by the owners.  Store managers not only work in-store, but unpaid at home, which often even isn't enough as the owners will call them at home, or while they are on vacation.

Aside from more serious matters, what owner would complain about management not being out on the floor directly after asking them to ensure their merchandise in the back is looked after?  This is common drivel you can expect to pick up the phone and hear by while being micromanaged under camera.  They are a lot more emotional than they are logical, and that's a bad mix for a business.

Aside from fixing things (which is one of my favorite things to do), the only other thing that made the job fun were the people I worked with (this is true for the location that I worked in at least; I can't speak for any other).

With the amount of work the Company expects out of their staff, the compensation is very poor.  Head Office staff are as overworked and under-compensated as store-level management.  The amount of work the General Service Manager and Service Manager do every day is insane; they deserve better.  Everyone in this company deserves a lot better.

At this location alone, I worked with 9 different managers. Apart from the massive turnover with {not only} staff but also management, I can confidently say that this job was not like any other job… It was truly remarkable. I worked on the sales floor more times without a store manager than with one. This frequent turnover has contributed to a lack of continuity and clear direction. Each change in management brought different expectations and communication styles, making it difficult to establish a consistent work environment.

Little-to-no support was given to the store(s) from Head office. Some stores are favoured more than others. No formal communication has been given on anything.. ever! Hiring toxic managers lead to poor mental health and lack of trust. I was told by management that my health issues were not “serious” enough to miss work and my pain was not “severe” enough to call in sick and began labelling me as an employee that was “untrustworthy.” I was labelled as “unreliable” due to chronic health condition(s). 

The turnaround within management is a major setback for the store. This has an overall impact on daily operations, scheduling, expected targets, staff reviews, and everything in between. Please take this into consideration if you are considering a position within this location. Training is inadequate and inconsistent as most managers are new and have little knowledge on the operations of the store; because of this, training is often insufficient. Training takes approx. 3+ months to complete — during which time you are not receiving commission. There is no accountability within the structure of the company. Do I recommend working here? If it’s a last resort, sure. But if there are other options, I promise you will benefit from the other option rather than Jump+. Like any other job, there is room for improvement and growing within the company. While I’m grateful for the opportunities this company has given me to grow and add to my resume, I am thankful it’s over.

Currently I work Jump+ as an iOS Technician, I do like my job however. I do feel like I'm under paid for my time since you're handling peoples precious technology while managing dead lines, and repairs, follow up, people will constantly pressure you about their data being restored. So as somebody who takes their job very seriously and works hard to make people happy I do get annoyed by the fact the sales team can make more money than myself. When I'm constantly under pressure I need to pass two exams to work in my position. Sometimes I don't even have time to take lunches the service team is so busy (Which is still MY fault, but I would rather get more work done half the time.) . I will go out of my way to do co-workers favors to help make a sale when I'm busy, but refuse to help me when I have my hands tied with repairs, of course this is different store to store and depending on who you work with but you get my point. 

Regardless, I do enjoy working there, my manager is great and really easy to talk to and get along with, also extremely reasonable which isn't a trait alot of my previous managers had, for the most part my co-workers are all really friendly. You get to work with current technology so if you're a nerd or just a fan of Apple you get to get in the loop of their products. I've seen alot of reviews on here that say there is no room for growth in the company which just isn't true. If you put in the effort and really care about getting a supervisor or AM or manager position is it obtainable if you put yourself in the right shoes and a spot opens up. 

If you're interested in sales, management or service (iOS tech or Mac tech) It's a solid company to work for, you just have to apply yourself and learn to deal with people regardless of how unreasonable some people are.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of working for this company. 

Worst ever in boarding experience:

Business Development  Manager gives no support and is super negative and focuses on the bad. Makes you uncomfortable and  doesn’t really do anything to help onboard you  but go on about how you need to be this way or get out basically.

No room for personality apparently. You can’t be fun and relaxed but need to be high energy and no room for anything else.

Lots of red flags from not really supporting your employees to help them succeed but more get out there and sell with no training and if you do act like a super start right off the start then your “ not the right fit” you need to fall in line  and change who you  are as a person  and be like everyone else  200% high energy 24/7 or that’s just the district  manager or business development managers image  of a sales rep should be or get out. Making a new person work 9 days straight and not really training them or support them. There is no room for chatting during slow periods is all about work 24/7 as staff should be doing “something” and learning and nothing else when clocked in. Observed reps never seem to approach or talk to  upper management but only 1 rep seemed to do that and I was told I needed to change all my reps to be like him.

High turnover rate, always looking for people which is also a red flag cause obviously this company is out of touch with how to really treat people and support them to help succeed. 

Stay away! Not worth your time or effort as this company truly does not care about their people just a another brick in the wall. They talk the talk but definitely don’t walk the walk with employee support coaching and mentoring.

I had no codes or logins to do anything in various systems. No alarm code but keys no logins etc  but was told I need to be out selling so I better figure it out without having any logins.

I left on my lunch break and never looked back.



I feel inclined to write this review, solely because I was formerly employed by Jump Plus, I enjoyed my tenure - separation was inevitable due to terrible management, belittlement, favouritism and having no work-life balance - on top of hours being cut. 

As the title states, from the outside looking in its a great company to want to work for and be apart of, as they embrace the products they sell and its usually a close knit group - which is its downfall.

Among others, the store I worked for was an HR nightmare. HR feels non-existent within the company, and HR complaints are only taken seriously if management were to submit said complaint - not front line employees. Use your imagination about inappropriate conduct within the workplace, its rampant amongst this company.

Hoping for advancement? Unless you like to alienate your colleagues and backstab others then good luck. Live outside of the GTA area? You'll have absolutely zero chance for advancement.

Have an issue, HR doesn't help? Don't reach out to higher up management, they usually talk negatively about you to others and disregard your inquiries. Go beyond management and talk to the owners? They usually don't care and side with managers.

Early on when the company was smaller, the environment was nice - albeit slightly toxic but as the company grew, things went south. It was great to work with and learn about Apple products, the training Apple provided to its partner employees was fantastic. 

I enjoyed my role, helping others both internally and externally, this was never really recognized - Morale was always low. 

If you're looking to take years off your life, become a commission slave or worked like a dog in a customer service role and become a verbal punching bag - Then definitely seek employment with this company, otherwise - look elsewhere, I would recommend.

If you are looking for a job where you have no connection with your employer, have zero confidence in them and they don't care about their employees at ALL. 

First of all, I got paid minimum wage when I started with agreeing to receive my commissions after my 20 day training (4 weeks). After 3 months of "Training" and not receiving any commission, which started tension on the sales team - making everyone fight to get MY commission. 

After discussing the issue with my superiors, they didn't do anything and basically made fun of me in front of clients - real professional coming from the owner and co-owner based in Ontario. 

If you want a 'no work/life balance' and want to hate your life and what you do then be my guest and go work for that crazy team in Champlain Mall.

I've seen half a dozen people get fired there, I wonder why they can't keep their staff..?? 

I was lucky enough to catch on quick enough, when I see the owner mock me in front of clients - total disrespect - I left.

A typical day there is beyond chaos. And thats just the tip of the iceberg. 

See for yourself. Go there and try to look for things, clues, you'll see, total chaos even on a light day. 

It's not for nothing that this store has failed their mystery shopper for 3-4 consecutive months. That tells you a lot about this company, especially that they are tainting the Apple logo.
