I was a maintenance technician and really enjoyed the equipment we worked on. The management and the ‘Run to failure’ attitude is what’s wrong with the place. If safety and preventive maintenance was more endorsed at JBL over time, production numbers would come naturally. 

Culture at JBL can be bitter and there is a lot of tension between Union and Management. 

Anyone who has a good work ethic ultimately leaves JBL because you inherit all the workload once management realizes it.

Go if you enjoy learning new things and have ambitions to better yourself because management will exploit those good values and download all the work onto you. (Not a shared work/team environment).

The work is challenging and will advance your skill set, but it’s definitely not a place to stay at long term.

JBL does have a lot of employees and managers that are great people who I will continue to be friends with going forward.

Great place to work, totally enjoyed working there. Done my best to get jobs done and was successful at it. Coworkers were great at helping and teaching you secrets to help with your work and work well together. Work wasn't overwhelming. Managers were easy to work with and if you were clear with upper management at working on an issue they would listen. Call-in's could be a little overwhelming. But you can't plan break downs. Would still be working there but moved out of province. I guarantee I could have my job back if I moved back and applied. Left on good terms.

Its a very cool place to work . Lots of different machines and processes . Its expanding and lots of work

Its a big plant and downtime is not good . Things need to be fixed asap

Its ok. The employees are very friendly.

Always on days . Morning meetings get your jobs and go .

The pay is good and the benefits

Getting co workers on your shift to train you. No one wants to do anything they aren’t being directly paid for.

The new guy is a burden to current employees

Very stressful cutting corners to get everything done that is expected of you

12 hour shift isn’t for everybody but the management here gets it. In order to grow your business you have to grow your people. That’s exactly what they do here. The training is constant, always improving and the safety culture is as well. They genuinely care about their employees. I feel fortunate to work here. With loads of expansion going on, there’s plenty of opportunity for people to land secure jobs here. 

I have been with JBL for some time now and it's absolutely a blast. Not only the pay appreciation, but also the atmosphere, they take you through the effective technical training you need to be successful. Lot of overtime. everyone is friendly and helpful.
Huge benefits, amazing union reps, uniforms and all else is covered. Anyone who gets hired here has definitely hit the jackpot.

No training for a position I have never done

Dirty, noisy and said one thing in my interview but expected something else 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and expectations were demanding
Safety is lacking

Everyday presents a challenge, but with the young and energetic maintenance staff we get the job done together. There is the on call that gets covered 1 week at a time but with recent changes to our pm schedule things are getting easier and less breakdowns. If you are positive than this is a great place to work, just dont take stuff personally. 

12 hour continental shifts with days and nights in same week. Unsafe job, 5 different places at once, sometimes no breaks til 8 or 9 hours into shift. Alot of breakdowns/equipment failures and 800 hours but really 900 hours to get your benefits while chasing human resources. High turnover and unionized tells a tale. 

I love my job and the people were great but there's always one in a workplace.  My supervisor was very rude towards me and you didn't know from one day to the other what kind of mood she was going to be in. If that person wasn't there I probably still be working their today.  Management is ok but not great.
